Are the Kings entering a rebuild phase?

The poll question is a good one, because even if the Kings' front office signals that a rebuild is coming, it's unclear to me that Vivek could commit to it for the long haul. While I supported the Haliburton for Sabonis trade upon its execution because of the Kings' need to break their playoff drought, I would not be supportive of future "win now" asset flips because Vivek gets impatient. While this "scoop" sounds encouraging, I'll need to see some sense in Perry's and Christie's actions in the coming weeks and months in order to believe it.
OKC's blueprint is not the same as the others, and really San Antonio's is just win the lottery 3 years in a row.
Detroit and Portland are fairly valid comparisons to what we might be able to do. As would be Houston, and possibly the Philly process, and those are what the expectations when it's over might be.
Are we doing it? I'm not convinced. And really CD hasn't exactly had the pulse of this team for a few years now.

Carmicheal Dave made the rebuild official? He’s just a radio show host with some contacts but hasn’t had anything breaking in awhile because Monte played his cards close to the vest.
I voted no because Vivek has refused this process. BUT fans were very vocal at the last game…..booing Eubanks being subbed in, chanting for Keon, lots of empty seats, the team seemingly pulling the old trick of quitting on the coach and giving up to the point Vivek allegedly walked off the court at halftime.
If this iteration of the Kings gets blown out by 30 again and again, I suspect ownership does something nuts once again because they can’t help themselves.
Something’s that could happen because Vivek has the patience of an infant….

He says I’ve seen enough then says perry has full autonomy. Either way I don’t believe it you don’t rebuild like that while playing 35 year olds heavy minuets over the young guys. Also Sabonis would be sitting from any minor injury if that were the case

Most of the team was on the block this summer. I think only Keegan and Keon were deemed untouchable, although I don't think Domas was shopped or generated many calls. And yes, Dubs wanted at least one of them so I do believe that Keon is still valued within the organization even if superficially it looks otherwise.
Any trade that nets us one or more first rounders outside of those three and Nique (would need more than just one FRP for them) I'm listening.

He has told multiple media members eyes are on ‘27
He pursued Kuminga an upside swing younger than our draft pick this year.
His signings have been for one year or non guaranteed contracts with the exception of Dennis who is essentially a 2 year deal and someone that can start or come off the bench. Keegan is a long term piece.
I think they are rebuilding but not the version where every player is 19. If I had to guess they are hoping to get a high draft pick this year and they will look to trade future picks for a splash and build around “the splash”, ‘26 draft pick, Keegan and Nique.

A rebuild would include moving Domas. I don't see them doing so, but it would absolutely be the right move.
The only vet I want to stay is Russ. Maybe Monk.

The east is open for a lot of team we need to take advantage of that… Charolette is still close to the play in with injuries and they need a center we could get another lottery pick this year trading Sabonis there

Allegedly we are targeting Nico Harrison to lead the rebuild charge. On one hand he totally destroyed his reputation with one disastrous trade, on the other he truly made solid move after solid move in building that Mavs team around Luka to make the WCF and a Finals. Mixed feelings for sure

Wait, what? Who's reporting this? Presumably, the Kings aren't firing Scott Perry, so what role would Harrison play in the front office that would have him "leading the rebuild charge"? Why would the Kings require Harrison's services? Are Perry and the rest of the front office's staff and scouts not enough? Is there some existing relationship I'm not aware of? Doesn't make sense.
Well that would be one way to insure we were the biggest punchline in the league.

That said, I can't even grasp the barest shred of logic in such a move, so I'm going to assume Carmichael Dave doesn't have strong sources here.

Vivek looking pissed while talking to Scott Perry and then leaving the Minnesota game early did feel like the prelude to something. If this is actually happening now, we're not in terrible shape considering the veterans who have the least value are on short(ish) deals and we already have three recent lottery picks in Murray, Carter, and Clifford and a solid 3 and D role-player in Keon Ellis as a starting point. The frontcourt will be a disaster but that's why it makes sense to start tearing this thing down now with an upcoming crop of draft prospects that is deep at the PF position. It all starts with a Sabonis trade though -- that's the only trade which is likely to net us future first round picks. It would be nice if we could get a young C back too, not All Star level but just someone who can play defense, grab rebounds, and set picks.

Not for nothing but this is shaping up to be one of the stronger frontcourt drafts in a while with AJ, Boozer, Caleb Wilson, and Ament all being forwards of various potential levels.

You know what I mean. A team filled with single season college players that were taken high in the draft. Obviously it won’t be the entire roster but the core 6-8 players with a few past their prime mentor vets sprinkled in.
