Appeal the Suspension?

Can Artest (or the Players Association) appeal the suspension? I know that in MLB, players appeal rulings and suspension all the time. Sometimes it is just to delay the suspension. Does anyone know if this is an option according to the collective bargaining agreement?

im not sure... but if he could im sure it would take longer than a day and by the that time his suspension would have already been served and the harm already done....

In other leagues the suspension will not occur until the appeal process is over.

He could appeal, but it didn't sound like he would from the bee article. Even if he did, I'm sure the process would be finished either before this next game or the one after, so he'd still miss a game in the series.

Of course, I guess he could win an appeal, but that happens so rarely that I didn't even think about that possibility at first.

The BIG problem wiht an apeal is that if he looses the apeal (likely) he wold serve his suspension the next game. very conceivebly in a game 4 or 5 situation... better to loose him for game 2.

Maybe the Kings should appeal the Artest suspension, serve it on Tuesday night anyway, and if they eventually decide in his favor, Artest is granted one free Flagrant-2 hit on Ginobili at a time of his choice? That seems fair.

I bet you someone sees this thread. I gurantee it actually. Some Mark is reading this right now. Hi buddy. 93.

Appealing won't change a thing. Just cop it on the chin and move on to the next game. Get Ron refreshed and ready for game 3.

Winning on the road against SA is a very tough task, almost impossible. I would rather lose Artest for game 2 than for game 3 or 4.
