Any Place Showing the Game on Monday?

I don't get NBA-TV and was wondering if there are any places that might show the game tomorrow. Monday Night Football seems to be the thing most places, including C-Webbs, will have on their TVs.

I thought tomorrow's game (Game #3) was going to be shown on ESPN-2, and not the regular ESPN? Or was there a programming change recently?

If it is on NBA-TV, some sports bars might have it, but since most other customers are tuning to football, you may have to ask the bar owner/manager to get at least one TV tuned to NBA-TV. Good luck.

From today's Sacramento Bee, here is an explanation on why tonight's game is on NBA-TV.

http://www.sacbee.com/100/story/1254946.html

Here's the teaser:
Why is the game not on basic cable or local TV? The WNBA saw this series as a rout, a No. 1 seed vs. No. 4, so it put the game on its network. It could have been on ESPN2, but New York-Connecticut Game 3 got that outlet. How's that for lack of respect?

News10 also has Monarchs rights, but the station will stick with ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" season premiere.
Grrrr!

I think that Bee editorial is a bit of puffery. How long has the WNBA been using NBATV to show the first round games? A while. Have we ever had local TV for a playoff game? Not that I remember and I'm not sure since they've gone to NBATV.

The Monarchs weren't going to get the ESPN slot (which is a 4pm slot West Coast time btw) today unless the Connecticut series didn't go to a third game. The league had listed the Monarchs/SASS game's TV status and time as TBA on the original schedule, I'm guessing so it could have been moved up 2 hours if that other series ended in 2 games.

What I do think happened is the Ms got jobbed with the scheduling because the league wanted the LA/Seattle series to get the weekend afternoon ESPN tv slot and the other non-football conflicted ESPN date on Tuesday. That's why the Monarchs were never going to get the Friday series start despite their crazy travels to end the regular season. And I don't think it's because the league figured SA would walk over the Ms, but moreso that they wanted max exposure for Candace Parker. If the Ms were up against LA this round, that series would have gotten the most ESPN slots.

I think you are right, MBF. It is more about getting the LA/Sea series the best exposure. I think it is for 2 reasons. #1. Parker/Leslie & Bird. #2. They were also figured to be the better series. Why? More evenly matched and more importantly, Parker/Leslie & Bird. :p

Got this from my ticket rep:

We just spoke with Center Court and I wanted to let you all know that if MVPs go to Center Court tonight to watch the game, Center Court will have the audio on in the players lounge for the Playoff Game. Due to Monday Night Football, that will be the only place where audio will be available for the playoff game. The Player Lounge is in the back room.

Again as a reminder the game will be televised at 6 p.m.
Thank you again and Go Monarchs!

Hey, that's nice that they are opening the players lounge for Monarchs fans.

After Party

That's very cool! Hopefully they'll get the word out and pack the place.

We're going to have an afterparty - regardless of the game result- across from ARCO Arena at:

Big Spoon Yogurt
2281 Del Paso Rd
Sacramento, CA 95835

I would say roughly 45 minutes after the conclusion of tonight's game.

If you're heading to CWebb's or hanging out at home (the chat room will again be fired up and rolling) come out to Big Spoon and let's meet up to celebrate a fabulous Monarchs season either way the ball bounces tonight.

:)

If you have direct TV or Comcast you can order NBA TV and then just cancel it the next day and you'll only be charged $1 or something.
