I haven't really thought about it but what did Elgin do besides sucker Minnesota into giving Jaric a large contract and taking Cassel back and way overpaying for Mobley??
I would think there success has alot more to do with Dunleavy then the job that Baylor did.

Well, Dunleavy was there last year too. But Cassel, Mobley, and now Radmonovic have definitely kicked the whole team to another level this time, and got them into Rnd #2 of the playoiffs for the first time in 30 years.
Probably a bit of a sympathy vote, made easier with the whole Colangelo fiasco, and probably only short term success. Nonetheless everything worked for the year at least, and Dunleavy is just the coach afterall -- they NEVER have anything to do with their teams winning.
The Radmonovic trade has paid great dividends and yet it may be one of those rare deals that benefit both teams. Perimeter based Seattle can use Wilcox and his more traditional PF skills while the Clippers have reaped the benefits of having a big man that can draw guys away from the paint, giving Brand and Kaman a chance to operate.
Back to the matter at hand, despite my joke to start this thread, I've thought that Baylor has been doing a decent job for a while now. His trade of the 2nd pick (Tyson Chandler) for Elton Brand was a good one and trading a future 1st for Corey Maggette (I believe the Magic were dumping salary for their free agent run at Duncan and Grant Hill) was even better.
Livingston has shown flashes of brilliance, Kaman is one of the better centers in the league and signing Cassell and Mobley has proved to be shrewed (especially Cassell).
This all reminds me of an discussion I had years and years ago with a college friend who was a Clippers fan. He always said that Baylor was a good GM but was handcuffed by Sterlings cheapskate ways. I guess he was right. Only once Sterling ponied up some cash to keep good players (Brand and Mags) did the Clippers improve.
