Andre Iguodala

Yeah! He's such a good, versatile young player... he gave Kobe trouble in April too. Just not as much as tonight.

Iguodala's going to be a stud.

As much as I like Kobe, second night in a row he's been taken out of the game (in the 4th vs. Minny by Hassell, 0-5, but still big).

Wasn't just him, they doubled him the whole night and it made the difference.
I know I watched the game his individual defense was still something to watch. Usually when I read about a player who plays great defense I have to see it for myself and I'm usually not impressed, but he's an impressive defensive player and only in his second year (only 21).

he is not so confident on offense, he can shoot though
Shooting was something I was skeptical about in his rookie year but he has improved in that area and has become a pretty good spot up shooter.

Iggy's the man! Go Iggy! He did do a great job defending Kobe last night. He's a great defender anyways. When we got him in the draft they said he was only a defender but they were so wrong! He's gonna be unstoppable in a few years

The reason for that is Iverson takes every shot. Iggy played what 36 minutes a game last year and averaged 5 shots, somethings not right there.

Well Iggy doesn't shoot much, but when he makes most of the baskets. He has got a pretty good FG% He also seems to pass pretty well.
He should be interesting to watch in coming years. He seems to be improving his shot every season.

Iggy? What a unappealing nickname. Really one of the worst I have heard. Sounds like a cartoon character or something. Does not do him any favors. Sounds like something people called him when he was like 5.

andre iguadola is a stud. he's a defensive specialist who has gained an outside shot, and he's a second year player. he's gonna be a top tier player in a coupla years.

Exactly what I was thinking. Most people would know him as the guy who recorded "Lust for Life".

As for Andre, he could make a living on his defensive skills alone.

Did I miss something?? Kobe scored 48 points.

FGM- 19-29
3GM- 7-7
FTM- 3-4
Rebounds- 10 (All on defense)
Assists: 2
PF- 2
ST- 2
TO- 7
Points- 48

Yeah, you missed the fact that Gargamel bumped a two month-old thread just so that he could rub it in the faces of everybody who posted in this thread that Kobe "won" the rematch.

^^ Good for Gargy. Not like anyone else hasn't done that, right??;)
One game doesn't make him a "Kobe Stopper" like a lot of people would like to think. :)

Well the thread (at least my intention) was to show that Iggy has a bright future as a defensive player. It could have been Lerbon instead of Kobe and I still would've started this thread.

Yeah, it's all Mad D's fault. (j/k)

Indeed.

The point is that Andre Igoudala is an up and coming young player in the NBA. I am thrilled for him that he was able to have such a good game against Kobe. However, Kobe is an all-star, exceptional talent. He adjusted, as he always has. Iggy will be the better for it, if he learns from it. And, I think he will learn. One reason I was happy that CWebb went to Philly was that I knew Iggy would learn from him.
