I know that Webb was a liability on defense when he was here, (and I'm by no stretch a Webber-Basher); but Wow, his D (at least in this game) looked about as bad as I've ever seen. I've watched sports religiously for about 15 years or so, and it never hit me quite like this- Watching one of my faves deteriorate right before my eyes. Sure, the offense he provides is nice, but 3 rebounds from your starting PF is abyssmal.
Wallace and Wallace: 10,and 10
Dalembert and Webb: 18 and 3
I really hope that he adjusts to Philly, or gets moved to a system where his abilities can be maximized, and his defensive deficiencies can be, well, hidden.
On a side note- I'd love to have Sammy here in Sac.

You might also realize that there are X amount of rebounds in a game...and if someone gets a pretty large number of rebounds...like Dalembert's 18, then someone else's rebounds are likely to go down. If you combine the rebounds of the starting frontcourts, who had more exactly? Webb has been getting 9 or so boards a game in Philly, so if he got 6 more boards then that would result in less boards for the rest. It is impressive to flame Webber for his D on Sheed when Dalembert was guarding him during most of his point explosion.
Why not? He's hitting them... Dirk has played the 4 and hit a lot of outside shots. If you have a player who can hit a certain shot - even a percentage of the time - it's another weapon in your arsenal and you'd be out of your mind not to use it (even just occasionally) to keep defenses on their toes.
I agree, but when watching this game (the first half, at least) Webber was either making no effort to get to rebounds, or couldn't contend with Ben and Rasheed Wallace on the boards. Sometimes he was nowhere near the board, and when he was in a position to at least try to get to it, he just stood there.
It's amazing to me that Chris Webber averages close to 10 rebounds a game without trying. If he were still healthy and was able to play hard, he'd be a much better rebounder.
