Analysis of our 2 best players and what our offseason should be like here on out.

G-League
Tyreke Evans: PG/SG 6’6 220lbs #13
Strengths- strength, getting to rack, rebounding, defense, ball handling, finishing with contact, passing.
Needs Improvement- shooting, staying engaged, stagnant in offensive sets, using pick and rolls effectively, and playing off the ball.
Summary- Tyreke has all the tools to be a superstar. He can penetrate the defense with ease finishing around the basket even with contact. Using his good interior passing, he sets up teammates with high percentage opportunities near the basket. His defense is in the upper echelon of the league when engaged and he rebounds well for his position. Unfortunately it not all good news for Tyreke he struggles to shoot the ball, often fading for no reason. He is stagnant in offensive sets often dribbling away the shot clock. Rarely using pick and rolls effectively he often opts to go one on one. Tyrekes future growth rest solely on weather or not he can develop a consistent jumper that teams can respect. If he strokes it for a decent clip there will be no stopping him, basically think mini Lebron with less dunks and more of a clutch gene.

Demarcus Cousins: C/PF 6’11 270lbs #15
Strengths- rebounding, shooting, mid range face up game, footwork, size, ball handling for size, passing, taking charges, offensive motor, and heart.
Needs Improvement- defense, back to basket moves, fouling, and whining to refs.
Summary- Cousins has the potential to be the best big man in the league in a few years. He can bang with the best of them snatching rebounds at will. His size, shooting, and ball handling make for an unstoppable force when facing up in the mid-range. His back to the basket game mainly consisted of him bullying his way to the rim, and then doing a flat-footed layup. Bullying his way didn’t work against everyone he struggled against stout and athletic big men. If he develops his hook shot with either hand he would be virtually un-guardable. Doesn’t carry the same passion and relentlessness to the defensive end. He doesn’t protect the rim and his help defense is often bad leading to fouls. However he does take a lot of charges and that seems to be his calling card to this point on defense. If Cousins can develop a defensive mind set and play defense with the same tenacity and effort he gives on the offensive side of the ball he will be an all-time great.

Offseason moves we should consider:
1st) Trade Jimmer Fredette- for warriors 1st round protected pick via Jazz + Cash.
Review: Free up cap space and the logjam in backcourt/ Jimmer marketability is through the roof in Utah plus they need outside shooting.
2nd)Trade Marcus Thornton & Francisco Garcia + warriors 1st round protected pick via jazz- for Andrea Iguodala.
Review: We get the elusive SF we’ve been searching for as well as veteran leadership/ They signed Dorell Wright and drafted Moe Harkless. While great on defense they lacked offensive firepower and Marcus will help with that. Garcia as filler to make the salaries match.
3rd) Trade Chuck Hayes/ for Royce White and Shaun Livingston.
Review: We dump Hayes contract for the Manageable rookie salary of Royce white and expiring deal in Livingston giving us flexibility going forward/ They lack any real center on there roster and Chuck is a fan favorite there.
4th) Sign Terrence Williams with cap space garnered through Jimmer trade.
Review: Need to fill role left by Thornton and he played well for us last year.
Starting Lineups:
PG - Tyreke Evans
SG – Terrence Williams
SF – Andre Iguodala
PF – Thomas Robinson
C – Demarcus Cousins
Bench:
Isaiah Thomas - gunner
Aaron Brooks - gunner
James Johnson - athlete
Royce White - facilitator
Jason Thompson – energy guy
Play sparingly:
Shaun Livingston
John Salmons
Travis Outlaw
Tyler Honeycutt
Why this starting lineup?
Most great teams start their best defensive players and their bench players just flat out score. This starting lineup is stout defensively only missing a true shot blocker that can be addressed with the flexibility garnered through the trades above. In stints last year when Tyreke and Terrence ran together they fed off each other really well on defense and offense add Andre and we're lights out on the perimeter. Then after the starting lineup is done pounding them insert Thomas, Brooks, and the rest of the bench mob and run them off the court with a pace no one can match. GO KINGS!!!!!

The starting lineup has almost no shooting. Iggy can shoot a little, but if he's the #1 threat, it's not going to work.

The Chuck Hayes trade is very unlikely. A first round pick AND an expiring, no chance. I would love to dump Hayes for a shotblocker, otherwise Outlaw and White will be the closes things to bigs after JT.

No need to sign TWill, him AND Iggy will be redundant, plus Salmons isn't going anywhere. And IT and Brooks will not both be coming off the bench.

I like the Jazz trade leading up to the Iggy move though.

Starters
IT/Evans/Iggy/Trob/Cuz

Bench Core
Brooks/Salmons/Johnson/JT

Spot Minutes
(Akognon?)/(Mitchell?)/Honeycutt/Outlaw/Hayes

Maybe sign a min salary veteran guard, plus a couple young players to bide their time in the DLeauge.

If you could pry Royce White for the price of Hayes it would be a major coup. Major. Overall though, still need bigger bodies on the bench.

Would I love to see that lineup? Sure. Of course teams would completely sag off the perimeter because there are no shooters starting the game, but it would be a monster defensive squad and would kill on the boards.

That said, outside of one tweet I haven't seen any real trade talk around Jimmer, let alone for a 1st round pick and I don't know that Philly would want to trade for Thornton after signing Nick Young.

But the biggest stretch is that Houston would trade Royce White to get back Chuck Hayes who they could have simply resigned last summer if they wanted. I'd love for it to happen because I like White's game, but I can't see it.
