You've talked about that ish way too much that if anyone on here claims they didn't see it coming (if it actually does happen), I'd be a bit worried about their sanity.
But...I won't have to worry about anyone's sanity around here, because he ain't coming to Sacramento.

If the Kings can just get rid of both of those contracts it's possible they could have legit cap space next summer. That would be an awesome pivot alone because the Kings would then be able to still sit in between adding to Domas and LaVine or just rebuilding and using that space to take on bad money and picks like the teams at the top did. If LaVine has a big year it's not impossible he doesn't opt out next summer and maybe even sign a smaller per year but longer contract to stay. There would be paths as long as Perry doesn't bust his cap.

No reason to keep monk as a 20 million dollar backup on a non contender. If teams want him, let them have him. This is the way to open the path to solidifying the defense first approach and get minutes to Keon and Devin. We saw Monk get the role and minutes and he's likely peaked in terms of potential as a starter so sell high because it ain't getting any higher, only lower.

Options are always the best option. It can if a team uses it to stockpile assets. Being the grease in another teams moves can set a franchise up.
Cap space WITH future assets matters. Cap space alone, does not

OK. I think the idea would obviously be to use it on FUTURE assets? Whether that would be to build a team around Domas and LaVine or rebuild. Teams cutting salary, adding a little here and there in the process, clearing up logjams. Makes total sense. We've seen Monk in the starter role, he's topped out with the Kings. Sell high.

The contract really isn't that bad. It really isn't. Especially when you relate it to that productivity. A 2 year contract max and it's very possible he opts out for a longer deal rather than just going into FA. If he stays healthy it's very probable.

Not for signing anyone. But with this new CBA it creates all kinds of openings to take advantage of others' desperation. Just look at Monte giving assets away to move Sasha and Davion.

I still think Watson’s going to be an All-Defensive team type of guy in this league. That unprotected pick could be good in 2031. But yeah, like I said, I don’t necessarily like it.

I think it’s unlikely we trade him unless it’s a swing for a star where we need the big salary. Trading him for lesser talent doesn’t make sense
