[Rumor] Amick:Kings not prioritizing Lavine extension and are listening to trade offers

They are over the 2nd apron, but if we can find a way to do Zeke + MPJ, I would do it without a question.

They were gonna do that trade last offeseasok with Chicago then at the deadline and the stupid owner who brought up trading Jokic said no. Apparently he’s untouchable because he went to the same school as Kronkee if that changes I’m sure we could do that deal.

This smoke probably has some fire behind it. Lavine is the anomaly in the current group of Carter, Ellis and Clifford. He doesn't have the toughness and defense of the others and if Perry is good to his word he wants toughness and defense. Perry also has previously said he wasn't a big Lavine fan, probably for the exact same reasons. So it's not going to be surprising to see Lavine gone. Probably the only reason Perry keeps him for the time being is because the contract is untradeable.

No reason to give him an extension now of course. I’d love to see him decline his player option and re-sign a 3 year 90 mil type deal if he has a repeat of last season.

Just a follow up today from the C Dave show. The LaVine contract was called one of the top 5 most untradable contracts in the NBA.

And yet we gave up a for Zach
  • Zach Collins
  • Tre Jones
  • Kevin Huerter
  • Their own 2025 1st-round pick (via Spurs) NOA ESSENGUE
Pretty sure Chicago held some protections on the pick even when the spurs had it, no? Seemed unlikely to convey.

or how about we keep the 23 point scorer with elite efficiency and stop bringing up a 2 year contract every 5 minutes.
I could actually be interested in watching a Sabonis, Murray, Kuminga, Lavine, Schroder lineup. With Keon as a 30 min per game 6th man. The comfort between Lavine and Domas presumably gets better after an offseason together, and removing Deebo and Monk removes a lot of duplication. Definitely better than just throwing away a player of Zach’s caliber just because he’s not perfect and has a big salary. He is really an elite shooter, so up to Doug to put him in the right role. Not totally sure if Kuminga really works great in this lineup, but would be willing to take a big swing on him to see if you can catch lightening in a bottle.
