American Idol

Did Paula look drunk/high to anyone else last night? She looked better earlier, but last night she seemed to be back to her wierd self from last season.

Also, did anyone notice how nobody seemed to care for Brenna? WHen others that were eliminated sang their songs everyone came up to hug them and say good bye. Nobody got up for Brenna :)
 
I think that Sway did not deserve to go home. He is a talent, but was a victim of Kevin's personality. My top three right now are....

GIRLS

1. Paris - still the best girl and the second best performance in a group of mediocre performances amongst the women.
2. Lisa - she slipped a lot this week
3. Katherine - Mandisa and Picker just right behind her

GUYS
1. Elliott - by far is my pick to be 2006 American Idol
2. Chris
3. Gideion - his performance was great

Overall I thought the guys were better this week. The girls were not very good.

Kevin and Will
Kinnik and Melissa
 
I think Brenna will be back when the judges get to pick one to come back.

As far as my now predictions... I think Daughtry and Pickler will be the final 2. Lot of good ones this year.

OMG --- NOOOOOOOOOO ...............I'd rather get poked in the eye with a sharp stick then have to sit thru another one of her "let's go agents, hire me - cuz I am DA BLING-BLING-BLING" spectacles.

I mean, even when she got voted off, and the show was closing down with the credits rolling and everything, she was up their "like she was modeling" ..... yakkkkkkkkkkkkkkk :eek:
 
That Kevin kid needs to go. I almost got sick when I heard him say that he's a sex symbol.

I think Chris, Elliot and Gideon are the best so far. Chris has really nailed both of his songs. He's my vote for the next American Idol.

HAHA, I don't much care for her myself but I think if she comes with a good song they would keep her because of the "drama" factor she brings.

I actually gave scores to each performer tonight, based on 10 being perfect:

Paris - 8.0
Lisa - 7.0
Melissa - 7.5
Kinnik - 6.0
Katharine - 8.5
Ayla - 7.5
Mandisa - 7.5
Kellie - 7.5

I was arbitrary, but used "song selection," "presentation," "singing" and "intangible" to come up with an overall impression...

I am nowhere near as sold on Lisa as the judges are. I'll be glad when they get down to six because it's easier to compare...

;)
 
IMO:

Paris was not at her best last night ... but, she'll go on to the next round.

Lisa - was okay - she too, can do much-much better ... next round

Melissa - I felt like Simon - she screamed the song - questionable to next round

Kinnik - Worst performance of the evening - great attitude and accepts criticism - next round ??? ..... I don't think so

Katharine - 2nd best performance of the night ... this girl is good

Ayla - She'll be in the bottom 3 - not really a great song, but she's cute, tall and that smile will get her into the next round.

Mandisa - The BEST performance of the evening - I hope she does another Chaka Khan song - ONCE YOU GET STARTED ... and yes, Simon - this stage is big enough for both of us !!!

Kellie - I liked her choice of song, she made it her own - just by her accent alone ... onto the next round.
 
I just haven't warmed up to Mandisa. I love her personality and enthusiasm but her voice just rankles me for some reason.

All in all, I think this season has a lot more talent involved. There really aren't any ladies left who really stink up the stage. There's a LOT of potential for improvement and real quality IMHO.
 
Well. Interesting development, IMHO, as far as the guys are concerned. It seems there is a definite break in the talent levels. There are four young men who are, I think, clearly breaking away from everyone else.

Again, I used the same criteria as last night to make my arbitrary scores:

Gedeon - 8.5
Chris - 7.0
Kevin - 7.5
Bucky - 7.5
Will - 7.5
Taylor - 9.0
Elliott - 9.0
Ace - 8.5

In my most humble opinion I think Will and Bucky will not be around after tonight. Will reminds me too much of one of the kids on The Brady Bunch. Bucky is just too narrow a talent...

I think Gedeon, Taylor and Elliott will be there at the very end.
 
For the men, I like Chris, Elliot and Gedeon. I really hope Kevin gets the boot. He really annoys me.

For the ladies, Mandisa is the only one in a league of her own. Just my 2 cents.
 
I like Kellie Pickler, just because she's so beautiful. She's so damn cute.

This week was much better than last week. My pick for the long run is Katherine. Her voice is amazing. I just hope she picks good songs to show it off.

The biggest surprise of tonight to me was Ace. Who knew he could sing like that? He sang higher than some of the girls are capable of! I'm sure not everyone will like it but it definitely made him more interesting.

I think Kevin is going home this week. Not too sure who the other guy will be. I think Kinnik is done too.

I really liked Ace from the beginning. He sang Father Figure a couple of weeks ago and sang good.

I sure hope you are right about Kevin.
 
I have this horrible feeling Kevin will be around for a while. I think Randy and Paula have really done him a big disservice. He's simply NOT anywhere near as good as they're making him out to be. He's one of those "I can sing at family reunion" type guys, IMHO.

I should have clarified. I like Chris ... a lot. I just didn't like his song tonight. I think he'll be around for quite a while.

Gedeon - Nice comeback on LOVING - ALL THE WOMEN IN MY LIFE: My mom, my grandma, my aunts ... C-Ya next week

Chris - I agree with Simon - he's getting boring ... all his songs sound the same - nonetheless, he's got a great voice - VERSATILITY = ???
Should be back next week ..

Kevin - I agree with you VF - so far what I've seen is good, but he's a ONE-DIMENSIONAL singer .... again, VERSATILITY = ??? ...should be gone this week

Bucky - Just keep haning in there - I see one more week in Bucky. Just doesn't do it for me ... sorry

Will - Definitely the worst performance of the evening - Sorry Will - CIAO

Taylor - Excellent ... can't wait to see what he does next !!!

Elliott - I agreed with Simon on this - in fact, this weeks performance did not interest me at all ... sounded good, but SO WHAT ... he's capable of SO MUCH MORE ... I'm sure a better song, next week.

Ace - WOW !!! ... like some of you, his performance just REALLY GRABBED MY ATTENTION ... he'll be back next week

to recap: Will & Kevin should be gone ... but, like VF - if Kevin stays then it's Bucky.
 
I think Will and Kevin will get the boot, at least I hope.

I really like Elliot. Ace bugs my daughter really bad, I meant to change her background on her computer to him after she went to school:D
 
Man, I wish they wouldn't say who got eliminated for tonight's show. Don't they realized that people on the west coast have another 1 1/2 hours to go befor the show starts. I just found out who gets eliminated for tonight. No worries, I won't say who gets cut.

Yes I knew at the time I posted because I just got done watching it. :) Here in Chicago we get it at 7pm central time (5pm PT).
 
Thanx for not saying - I'm watching right now .... the two lowest girls are already off - one guy - down to two guys left, one of which will be gone.
 
I don't disagree with either of the girls and I have absolutely no problem with the Brady Bunch kid being gone. Kevin, however, does NOT have the talent or maturity it would take to actually be the Americal Idol. I know one thing for sure - I'm going to be watching for Gedeon. If he does get any kind of record deal, he'll get my $20 or whatever to buy it.
 
WHAT! I cant belive Gadieo was gone. Definatly dont like the choices.

I think teh boys who are gone are kinda obvoius.

Bucky and Kevin. I think tehy will leave next for boys.
 
Okay VF21 thank god I had no coffee in my mouth cuz I would have spit it out....your weinie comment hit the nail on the head and thats exactly how I feel! He does not even come close to Gideon...gheeeesh
