American Idol - the New Season

I Dunno VF

Like you, my predictions have not even been close ...

Bo will win ... (I'm going with the Girl-Boy-Girl-Boy theory)

Wow....you know, I've been saying that Bo is going to win for weeks now, but after tonight, you never know. I think Carrie came into tonight to win and brought it. For one reason or another not to be mentioned now and here, I have doubt in the American public (;)) but if they go over the entire body of work, then Bo will win but if only today is taken into account then Carrie will win. Carrie came in and rocked it, 2 of the 3 songs were right on the money, however Bo was only there for 1, IMHO. Anyhow, I AM NOT VOTING. :)

I was disappointed that Carrie picked Independence Day because, as Simon mentioned, her killer song was Cryin'... And, once again, I wasn't thrilled with the song they picked to be their signature. "Inside Your Heaven" is okay, but I wouldn't be rushing out to buy it.

My thought was that Carrie was obviously more nervous on the final song and I thought Bo did a better job on the "signature" tune.

Bottom line is I'll be happy either way. And I know both of them are going to have nice careers.

Props to both of them.

:D

Both will. If Bo wins then there is no doubt in my mind that Carrie will still have the opportunities to have a great career and vice versa with Bo. They are two very likable personalities and singers and each in their own genre.

I would like to hear them sing a duet - like "Islands in the Stream" or "I've Had the Time of My Life" or something similar.

I think it would be a nice way to start tomorrow's show...leading up to the BIG announcement.

.... did you see most of Bo's family/friends ALL WEARING SUNGLASSES ???

I think MOST OF America had already decided on who they were going to vote for before last nights show even started.

You'd think by now they'd know what songs they are strong at ... but, they did fine.

Carrie, definitely nervous ... I agree VF - should've done CRYIN'

Bo, his experience shows .... I was waitin' for BS&T to close the door

I voted for Carrie ... I'm a softie for a pretty face ....

Carrie and Bo in a duet would be a very interesting combo. And it sucks that 'AI' is on at the same time as the season finale of 'Lost'!!

I think Bo was terrible last night. The songs that AI wrote are just not for him. He sounded lost. Vehicle was good but lacked that original passion he had when he sang ot weeks back. Carried was good last night. Granted to 2 sappy, slow, poppy ballads they wrote were fine for her, but not Bo. I hope people vote for who is the best all around and throughout the entire competition and not only based on last night.
I still think Bo should win, but I have this icky feeling it will be Carrie "Wooden" UNderwood.

Darn, wished I hadn't of missed it, but wouldn't you know that ABC aired 'Lost' right opposite 'AI'?? Of course. Oh well, I'm sure there will be plenty of clips aired on 'Entertainment Tonight' and such.

My fears came true. Carrie won, but I knew it would happen. She did great the last 2 nights and congrats to her. The one note she held out for super long time in one of the sappy AI songs was not on pitch and was hard to listen to, but kudos for having the breath control to hang in there.

I have no doubt that Carrie will be a huge success in the Country World and that Bo will be an even bigger success in the world of music. He just has what it takes to appeal to all. Rock, Country, Metal, Blues. He will be a star. I wish them both tons of luck and can't wait to buy Bo's CD.

Not really...

Look how cute he was. He shoud've cut his hair and looked like this for AI.

Bottom line is I think the right two people ended up in the final pairing and I think they'll both do quite well.

I liked the part with the other finalists, which - to me - reinforced that those of us who voted regularly and faithfully got it right in which people should have been standing on that stage last night.

...

I now have a horrible gap in my viewing schedule, with Nashville Star, Project Runway, Survivor and The Amazing Race all over... and Big Brother not yet on the tube. Between that and no Kings basketball to watch I'm really lost...

I can't wait to see Bo in concert!
