American Idol - the New Season

How could Jessica be gone?? Scott was so terrible I was cringing under my blanket for the whole song. That just doesn't seem right. :(
 
Does anyone else think that Paula is abusig either alcohol or most likely some kind of medications? She has been acting very strange lately. She looks high on something most of the time.

Yes. I agree. People have been commenting about that on the news, and here at work too!
Did you see her last night as the credits were rolling? They had a shot of her where her eyes were half closed and she looked like something was wrong with her!
 
I thought this would sure get Scott thrown out, but it seems that he disclosed it to AI beforehand :(

I just HAD to post, because I am so mad about Nikko Smith getting booted last night! I don't know who the hell these people are who keep voting for Anthony Federov to stay, but they must be wearing earplugs while listening to the show. I admit he has an inspiring back story but it's a SINGING competition and he simply does not have the best singing voice in the group. I suppose Idol has simply become a popularity contest who's sole income is brought in by white teenage girls who vote for who they think is the "cutest" <<Okay, rant over now,,:o


Good Luck Nikko! I'll miss the R & B soul you brought to the show!

Scott sounded terrible for the last 3 weeks. Why is he still there? I'll never know
 
Nights like last night is why I think people should be voting for who they want to leave, not who they want to stay.

Yep, unfortunately. I think, personaly, that this years group pretty much stinks.
I don't like that they had to have the same amount of guys/girls...it should be the 12 best singers, period. It's amazing to me how these people don't know different genres of music..not that they have to like all kinds.
Niko..not every song is an R&B song..just as every song is not country, Carrie.
For people who are interested in music and want to be in the business..they sure seem to be limited.
 
I have to agree with Rockmeister and vj9999.

I think something is going to have to be done, because it's apparent that some people with way too much time on their hands and NO concept of what's good and what is just awful are casting a lot of votes for poor singers at the expense of much better performers who are being voted off for no discerable reason.

I do think the pity factor may actually be part of the problem. The people that Simon criticizes the most are invariably held over way past their logical time to leave. Federov and Scott are prime examples.

I would like to see some kind of system where maybe the judges could over-rule an elimination and allow the person one more chance ... but I know that would go against the whole "American Idol" concept.

Watching Fantasia last night reminded me that the best person doesn't always win.
 
I disagree-Fantasia is a great singer and a wonderful performer. With Federov, he has got the entire Slavic community rallying behind him, so that is probably a big reason why he is still on the show. And he really played up the trachetomy to get sympathy votes. But with Scott-he is a bad singer and it has also been revealed that he has a dometic violence charge against him, so I don't understand how he is still here.
 
I love Fantasia! I like Diana too but I was glad Fantasia won last year....anyway It was sad to see Nikko leave....I thought he was one of the best ones :) I hope Vonzell wins this year :)

Your kidding right? Yea, you might have thought she was hot, but she is a terrible singer. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but I had to turn on the mute button when she sang last year.

Feel free to disagree, but I do NOT think Fantasia was the best last year. I thought LaToya was much better - and I think she lost out because too many people thought she was safe and didn't bother to vote for her.

Well, Scott disclosed his prior record to the shows producers beforehand so they already knew. Plus, it was hardly domestic violence..I don't condone throwing objects or name-calling, but that hardly makes him an abuser IMO..Scotts last couple of performances have been sub-par but I don't think he's a bad singer, certainly no worse than Anthony Federov.

LaToya was great, and I wish she had been in the final two, but I do still think Fantasia deserved to win. Her performance of Summertime still gives me chills when I listen to it on CD.

As far as Scott vs. Anthony, I think they both have the potential to sing very well, but they haven't been bringing it the past few weeks. I was rooting for Scott since the beginning, but his performance the week before last changed that. I honestly don't know what Paula is hearing when he sings, but she sure does like him. Anthony was also one of my favorites when this season began, but if he continues singing as poorly as he has the last few weeks, he has to go.
 
I am a professional singer, and personally I have to say that Fantasia has a very strange voice. Most people will not like it because it is not readily pleasing to the ear. It is very Macey Grey and I can't stand her. As far as legitimate voices, LaToya has one. Fantasia does not. None of the girls this season have legit voices. None of them. Carrie has a nice voice but she is terrible on stage. I would like to see Bo or Constantine win. They have the best voices and they are great on stage. I honestly think that any winner is doomed anyway because of those contracts. But to each his own.
 
i like anwar, he's got the best voice.but i still cant get over the fact that nikko left and fedorov and that other big guy are still on! he was much better than them.
