Hurricanes belong in Hartford
I'm sure they'll get on that, right after the Avalanche move back to Quebec City.Hurricanes belong in Hartford![]()
Yeah, this is weird. My best guess is that the Cherng family had originally been a part of a RAJ group attempt to buy the Blazers and signed something that can be interpreted as preventing them from joining another group. But I think we're still waiting for actual details to come out. Still, I can't see any other legal angle here.RAJ family can't buy the team outright, an earlier report I saw was they wanted to block this whole group, it does make more sense if they just want to have the secondary ownership stake. Sell their Kings share to the Panda group and maybe everything is kosher? Throw in a deal to give them first crack at the next WNBA team for the trouble?!?
I was thinking maybe something was promised when they bought the WNBA team? I don't know, it's not my team, I can sort of see rationale behind them having ownership stake in the brother/sister clubs, and with the Thorns they are all in on once city which is seemingly great for consistency? Horrible if you wind up hating them. Not really something I worry about.Yeah, this is weird. Is Cherng part of the RAJ WNBA group? I didn't realize that, but if so it would likely be part of some sort of conflict of interest complaint.I was thinking maybe something was promised when they bought the WNBA team? Not that Iām aware I just wondered if as part of that deal they got a right of first refusal of some kind since they operate in the same arena? I have no idea. It just makes sense to consolidate in one city vs. a portfolio of teams all around. I don't know of any connection that the Panda people have to Portland except that it alliterates nicelyIs Cherng part of the RAJ WNBA group? The Cherng matriarch is from OSU, apparently. May not be much more connection. Not that Iām aware I just wondered if as part of that deal they got a right of first refusal of some kind since they operate in the same arena? I have no idea. I did not know that. It seems beyond that their business ventures are mostly SoCal and Vegas (why did I think they were in Texas?) We only have like 3 confirmed billionaires in Oregon - Uncle Phil, Tim Boyle (Columbia Sportswear) and Travis Boersma (Dutch Bros) and Dutch Bros has moved their operations to Arizona so that may soon be down to two.The Cherng matriarch is from OSU, apparently. Edit: I am aware that is Corvallis and not Portland.
Tom seems to want to be the new Vivek.
Gotta love when a new owner comes in with their own new absolutely batcrap stupid team building ideology.
If he thinks all the other cost cutting he can attract free agents up here it's going to be like the first decade of Vivek too.Vivek must love this guy! All of Sacramento is looking north and saying, "Well...could be worse!"
The "pdx" in your handle suggests your guess should be better than mine...If he thinks all the other cost cutting he can attract free agents up here it's going to be like the first decade of Vivek too.
Question though, is the Trail Cat/Doug Fur not satire?!?
