All Star Rumor: Lamar Odom for Peja and Bobby Jackson

I'm sorry I did not realize this was already posted.

I just heard this on the All Star Game Broadcast. Mods you can close this if you like.

Could you explain what you mean by All-Star rumor????

commentators during the game just a few seconds ago said the rumor thats been all around down their is the trade of bojax and peja for lamar

Ah, okay. So they're commenting that there's a rumor that we've known about for a couple of days in both this forum and the NBA forum?

Hey, no grass growing on them.

:D

Well, David Aldrige just said on the telecast that this has been talked about all during the weekend. That the Lakers have an interest. That was the first I had heard it.

If we actually hear the names of the players in a potential deal then there is no deal. Dont you guys no Petrie by now? The guy keeps it quite.

Man this rumor is getting closer to reality. I am not a Odom fan, unlike Mobley which I was a fan of before the trade.

I will support him if he's a King and if he does come here I hope he is better in our system. He is one of those guys that has a TON of potential that has never fully used it. That part is a positive, the negative is he has tons of potential and never has used it.

Yeah, but Mitch Kupchak woule be on the other end of that trade. :)

Of course the Lakers would have interest!

Peja hasn't been super productive for us yet, and the right trade might help us out in the rebounding/defense dept, but Odom just is not the answer IMO. Just another outside playing forward who is athletic, sure, but not a clutch player and won't do a darned bit of good defending down low or stopping guard penetration.

Peja on the other hand would flourish in LA IMO.

Petrie seems like he'd back out of a deal out of spite once people start talking. :p

The guy doesn't even tell his wife anything

Peja/Bobby for Lamar straight up I dont like. However, with a little tweaking, I find this one much, much more appetizing.

Sacramento trades:

SF Peja Stojakovic (19.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.9 apg in 38.3 minutes)
PG Bobby Jackson (11.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.3 apg in 21.7 minutes)
SF Erik Daniels (0.5 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 0.2 apg in 3.9 minutes)

Sacramento receives:

PF Lamar Odom (15.7 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 3.5 apg in 36.4 minutes)
SF Jumaine Jones (6.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 0.7 apg in 23.3 minutes)

Change in team outlook: -9.6 ppg, +7.0 rpg, and -0.2 apg.

What you think?

First, the fact it's being repeated in wider and wider circles doesn't make it closer to reality. Remember, Webber had pretty much signed in Detroit, too.

;)

As far as Pedja flourishing in LA, I disagree. He can't create his own shot and he'd be sharing court time with someone who takes MORE shots than Webber. How is that going to help Pedja?

P.S. Trade deadline is Thursday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. (EST).

You're right. That probably means that we're not getting Pierce or Chandler/Deng for Pedja either. :)

yeah we wouldn't want to trade a one deminsional clutch player such as Peja for a more versatile SF that can play PF that would bring 7 to 10 rebounds a night and can finish around the basket. Also 2 guards that shoot great from beyond the arc just isn't enough we have to have 1 guy that 3 point shooting is all he brings to the offense. Oh yeah the occasional layup that has to be spoon fed to him under the basket after the defender gets picked.

Those weren't "confirmed rumors" those were fan suggestions.

To tell you the truth, I wouldnt mind having Lamr Odom. Peja will not have a lot of pts this season because of Cuttino. Lamar isnt a bad shooter, and he great at rebounding. he can help the kings in a lot of areas. I wouldnt mind him in Sacramento.

Heh.

I like this trade, Odom is exaclty what we need, good rebounding post player and can play very good D.... and if Odom is doing good now , he will do only better when he comes to our system..

Theres no way I would give up Peja & B Jax just for Odom, I meen think about that Peja is just as good as Odom at his best even better, plus throwing in B Jax, they would have to give us Mihm & a pick to make this deal go, I'm not sure if thsoe salaries work though.
