Like I said, about 95% don't even know these guys even work/worked for the Kings. Mike Petrie is a video scout and video management. RJ was an assistant video coodinator and a scout. He was let go along with Rick.
You can check out their bios in the Kings media guide.

Actually that's incorrect. RJ is still in the employ of the Sacramento Kings. He was not let go.

the same man Grizzlies president of basketball operations Jerry West tried to hire in 2004 before owner Michael Heisley opted for the embattled Mike Fratello.

This is an interesting quote. For all the conversations the past few days about the Maloofs and ownership's right to choose a new coach, it appears the Maloofs have more faith in Petrie than Heisley does for West. Good for us, good for Muss, bad for the Grizzlies. If Petrie, the Maloofs, and Jerry West all like Muss, I think we'll be oooook.

Well, I'm not sure I'd say that. I don't blame him for choosing Mike Fratello over Eric Musselman. Muss was just coming off of two losing seasons, had gotten into turf wars with the players in Golden State, and Chris Mullen made it his number one priority to get rid of him. Meanwhile, Mike Fratello has over a decade of head coaching experience.

Jerry West is a natural talent scout. He's been known to find the diamond in the rough. But on paper, Fratello is the better choice.

It does make me feel more confident in Muss that Logo wanted him in Memphis.
