You think our bench is weak?

During this offseason I started a thread about what I perceived to be some very shaky moves regarding Detroit's bench. Basically they intentionally made themselves old and decrepit and left themselves without a single dependable bench presence.

Well, its early yet but:

1) Detroit is averaging 88ppg in its first two games
2) Detroit's starters are averaging 81ppg int he first two games
3) Its bench players have combined to average 7ppg
4) No bench player is averaging more than 2.5ppg
5) Detroit's starters average 42.0, 40.0, 38.0, 35.5 31.5 mpg
6) 5 of its 7 bench players are 30 years or older (the youngest of which is Antonio McDyess who has played in 52 gms in the last three years combined)
7) Darko Milicic, one of its two young players, looked bad again in preseason -- he's not ready
8) They have exactly one backup guard with any experience (Ham MIGHT be able to play a little OG) -- Lindsey Hunter. Who is 34 years old and hasn't shot .400 in 5 years.

Detroit's bench:
McDyess 15.0mpg 2.5pts 3.0reb 1.5ast
Hunter 11.0mpg 2.5pts 1.0reb 1.5ast
Campbell 8.5mpg 1.5pts 2.5reb 0.0ast
Defino 9.0mpg 0.5pts 0.5reb 0.0ast
Ham 9.5mpg 0.0pts 1.5reb 0.0ast
Coleman DNP
Milicic DNP
