Adelman/Petrie - Artest

But you don't know. And that's the gamble the Maloofs took...

Right now, I'm going to enjoy the excitement and the ride. If it all comes to a screeching halt at some point down the road, I'll deal with that then.

Kings fans finally have a litle glimmer of hope. It might be delusional but please, let us have that delusion, if just for a little while.

;)
Hey, I didn't mean to pee on the wheaties. I about added something saying that a team could succeed if they completely submitted themselves to his selfishness. Make it all about Ron, and such. But then I couldn't really see any NBA team doing that, especially the Kings....

soup's a good guy.....hes just like a lot of pacer fans right now....title hopes are gone and ron makes a great target for directing that bitter disappointment...

Are you kiddin? My boy is the starting C now. :D I'm too relieved that he's finally been given a chance to be bitter.

You Pacer fans may be right BUT wouldn't it be nice to let us at least enjoy our moment of excitement?

Any of us who have visited PacersDigest are pretty well aware of how things ended up between Artest and most Pacer fans. We may well end up the same, but why pee on our Wheaties so quickly?
I don't think anyone is trying to pee on your parade or anything. It's just that Ron has hurt us so many times, and we don't want you to get your hopes up. We gave Ron plenty of chances and backed him 100%. We always thought he would change, but, he simply didn't.

I'm not saying he won't change here, I'm just saying it's unlikely. But, hey maybe he can, what do I know? :)

I hope he does well here and I hope Peja does well here in Indiana. Both teams need some kind of spark. Hopefully Ron and Peja can provide that spark to their respective teams.

Most of us are well aware of Ron's history. But, at this point, it's just as easy to be optimistic and, quite frankly, it's about the only thing we as Kings fans can do... Yes, he may well be a ticking time bomb and he may explode. We know that.

I'm glad you guys have come over to visit and give insight but please...don't ruin the Santa thing for us quite yet. Let us enjoy it for a little while.

;)

BTW, I like your avatar on PacersDigest better or did you change it?

No, I didn't change it on PD.

Also, back to the Artest talk. We aren't trying to ruin it, so far he's played pretty good, and like I said, no one knows if he will have another incident.

He may never have one again, I'm just saying don't get to optimistic about him. Don't make the same mistake I did.

But, I can also see your argument, "Being positive is all you can be." and I agree. So, I guess just be positive but not too positive....:D

The Kings management took a huge gamble. I'm thinking the least the fans can do is support that gamble and at least give Artest a chance. Believe me, I have a lot of reservations but I've packed them away for right now, along with all the excess baggage in Ron's storage locker.

Sure, we might have to deal with all of it at some point, but right now it's more like we're choosing to NOT open the door on that locker. We might wake up one morning to find the locker totally demolished and then we'll pretty much have no choice but to face what was in it. Let's just say I, at least for right now, am in the "the Nile ain't just a river in Egypt" state of mind.

;)

On this forum we have this thing called piksimism, which is like pesimism - only worse. I've adopted it this season even before we traded for Ron. So, according to my new "creed" I totally accept the fact that Ron can do something realy stupid down the line and screw things up. Every day that he doesn't is an absolutely great day to be a Kings fan.
