Mister Slim Says:

Forty-eight minutes of regulation remaining. Roughly one hundred forty minutes of real time. After that, Kings Fans will be able to put this season behind them and move on... Most of you, anyway. For some others, the end of the season will just be a continuation of six months of hand-wringing and lamentation over Sacramento's draft status and whether or not they will get the Golden Ticket they've been demanding all year.

In the meantime, Sacramento closes out its 2025-26 season in Portland against a Trail Blazers team that, surprisingly, still has something to play for, ass they have not yet clinched the 8th seed. This means that they will likely be playing to win, and they appear to be pretty close to full strength for tonight's game. The Kings, not so much. Oh well, at least the ones who should be playing will be.

As another season draws to a close, I'd like to thank those of you who have stuck it out these past 81 games; wish I could say it's all been fun, but most of it has been fun enough, even if most of the fun was derived from the meta discussions going on during the games. And, personally, I very much appreciate it: I'd self-isolated to the NBA folder, the general Sports folder and the Lounge after I quit the Kings, and it took VF21 passing away for me to resume a more active role in Kings Rap, so I am mostly gratified when people engage in these [Game] threads, even when the engagement is mostly pertaining to a topic that I would just as soon have taken out back behind the woodshed and shot. The culture and community that you all have been a part of creating and sustaining for more than a quarter-century is the reason why I'm still here.

It damned sure ain't because of the basketball. 😉

Play the kids.

Hard choice but I took Herbie over Brad. Herbie changed music Brad well he is fun. FYI, I was up in Sacramento for the game against the pelicans and saw Brad outside the arena, he looked good. Lost a lot of weight.

I voted for Brad, seemed like a pretty obvious choice for me. Only temptation was Letterman, but just because he was funnier than Leno doesn't mean he was a huge thing for me.

Mark Jones calling his last game for ESPN so the season officially ends with Draper and Kayte talking over each other

I had a huge crush on Shannen Daugherty before she was Brenda Walsh. RIP

My prediction is we go into the half trailing by 30 and win the game. Doug Christie is immediately signed to a 5 year extension and we win the lottery pick #1 overall, nail the pick with the only top 5 player to actually turn into an all star. Officially ending the Bagley/Joerger/39 win curse.

Mr. Positive indeed. 👍

Time to have a discussion with Slab.

Thanks for all the game threads in this inexecrable season, Mr. S£im Citrus!

I would have started more myself, but the Kings always seemed to lose when I did that. But then I discovered they always seemed to lose anyway, so I gave up!

It's a doggone shame Mr. Monk will not play in the season finale. We may already have seen his last game in a Kings uniform.

blazers spending a first round pick to draft Hansen Yang looks even worse when the pick they traded to get him turned into Cedric Coward, half their front office is currently suspended for tampering with him, and Max Raynaud, who got taken like thirty picks later, has been the “Baby Jokic” big out of the draft lol

How important in the playoff race is this for the Blazers? Not sure about how a tie would work for them.
If Portland wins they get the eighth seed, meaning they have two games to win one. If they lose and the Clippers win, they fall to the ninth seed and have to win two games to get in.

They need a win to get the 8 seed, which is pretty big for the play-in, because they move into the playoffs with one win in two games. If they drop to 9 they have to win two of two to get in.

Last game of the season, reports DC is coming back as coach, and then we see him win a coaching battle right away? Can't make it up folks. Blazers gameplan defensively has been decimated so far.

Precious running circles around Clingan, who loves better than most 7’3” big guys but is still a 7’3” big guy.
