So are we thinking we see Keon starting at the 2 tonight?
If Christie wants a long-term HC contract, he's got to make it happen. Only thing that can save this season/core is properly staggering Monk/DDR/LaVine and getting Keon's defense on the floor in the spots that matter (vs 1st rotations of the best guards in the 1st and 3rd quarter, closing in crunch time).

Not that I think this team is only a "Start Keon!" away from a title or anything, but we have not been using this roster even close to it's maximum potential. I still can't believe CJ McCollum went for 42 on 7-12 from 3 on us, in a close game that went to OT and our best guard defender literally played 1 minute (when we were down 5 in OT) of the last 13. Mind-blowing.

I don't know if Kings will score more points in this game than Hornets, but I can bet most of my still somehow useful body parts that Kings will create more turnovers for sure.
Kings have third worst home record in the West. We can do better. NBA is a brotherhood, right? It's pretty unfair for only Jazz and Pels to have a home losing record in the West (look in East - most teams take tanking or competing seriously), let's try to lose today - that way I can start my week with heavy drinking.

Why are people upset? Kings are a .500 team, that means most of the time losing decisively against teams that are trying to win (the Warriors), and helping teams that are tanking, like the Hornets. We're due for a win! Isn't this what we wanted? [/SARCASM]

This game tonight at home is a pivotal game. This team should have received a wake up call after Friday nights blowout embarrassing loss to The Warriors. The Hornets are not a great team but, this is a home court advantage that The Kings should and must win. They have had a couple of days of practice together now, which should help to reduce the horrible turnover numbers. The players should have also learned some of the newer players tendencies and worked on some plays. There is no reason for the kings to come out and not play hard. There is no reason for players to just stand around and not move. There is no reason to not close out on three balls. There is no reason to not take it to the hoop and settle for three point shots all night long. Fundamental basketball should be the order of the day. Stop playing ISO ball and matador defense. Get back to basics because if you’re not doing those little things right you’re not going to win games. Walk before you run so to speak with this new group and grow from there. Should The Kings come out and play poorly again with no sense of pride and urgency in a game like this then I feel this season will be all but over. Difficult circumstances to be sure, but, how long will they use the trade of DeAron Fox as an excuse for not playing basketball in a manner that this city and its fans are deserving of? The talent is there. There are too many difficult matchups ahead and if The Kings don’t bring it tonight then this season is likely a washout. It’s now or never fellas. If nothing else, play like you give a damn. It’s not about getting knocked down. It’s about how you rise to meet the challenge ahead. Show me something….anything. Let’s go Kings!

It’s not just staggering those guys but keeping as much as can possible be kept on the floor with Keon, Keegan, and I think LaRavia as well as Fultz. That’s 4 guys who will go get after it on defense. Technically 5 with Devin Carter but I don’t think DC’s going to give him a chance. Multiple defenders on the floor at all times surrounded by the offensive oriented guys. If the vets get their panties in a bunch, eff them.

Yeah. Do we care about wins, or do we care about placating egos?

Again, I think back to Kerr benching David Lee, who had a recent all-star appearance for a 2nd year Draymond Green, who had only played 21 MPG in his rookie year. Without that move, the Warriors dynasty never happens. Sometimes, the easiest fix to balance both the offense and defense is to just add that defensive lynchpin piece. Even if he's not as "talented" as the guys he's replacing.

Looking at any calendar will show Sunday as the start of the week. BUT....

Monday is the start of the "work week". AND...

Sunday is a day of the "weekEND".

Confusing to be sure.
Haha yeah, this is what got me for most of my life. I had a huge (playful) argument with my girlfriend about it and she was very gloaty about it when she got the calendar out and I had to admit that I was LIED TO my entire life! I also had to admit that I need to use calendars more.

Uh anyways, go Kings!

Yeah it's a mandatory V. And after that last game you find out what a team has inside. Usually a blowout like that gets the monkey off the players back and they just go out there and play. They were thinking way too much last game. They should come out with more of a nothing to lose mentality. That's typically what happens with a team in the Kings position right now.

True. We will see what this team is made of tonight.

Only bad thing is the Hornets just lost by 50+ to the Blazers

A hot shooting night, everything clicking and some solid team defense would certainly pick up the vibes quite a bit. Gotta forget the last game and come out like the talented team they are.
