All the years before every game was on TV and still many games while at work, I still really enjoy Gary Gerold's work. He's knowledgeable about the Kings as well as the opponents, and he's very fair. If he sees a lack of effort or a dumb move by a player, coach, or referree, he let's us know, just as he let's us know about the good things. He's a hall of famer imho.
Go GMAN!

GO KINGS!!

This one, to me, is about as close to a "no-brainer" as you could possibly get.

There's Gary Gerould and then...

...

...

there's everybody else.

I chose Kara Lawson. She is fresh, articulate, knowledgeable, even keeled, personable and getting much easier on the eyes. From a basketball perspective, I don't think there is any media person in this region that has more knowledge about the game than Kara. That includes Coach T, Jerry Reynolds and others.

I still think though as annoying as Grant Napear is as a talk show host he is absolutely one of the best play by play in all of the NBA, especially on radio. I hope at some point Napear becomes the full time radio play by play if and when Gary Gerold steps aside.

As far as Gary Gerold is concerned, I think he has great class, charisma and is smooth. I love his experience and just his flow for the game. I have always felt that the game of basketball on the radio was to be announced by young people because of the pace. Gary Gerold debunks that myth. He keeps up as if he were a youngster.

My biggest problem with Gerold is that he is excruciatingly hard on the team when they do wrong. I do not mind criticism of the home team one bit, but sometimes the tone of his voice is one of a scolding parent blessing out his child. To me that is oh so annoying and very unprofessional. If the Kings fall down 8-0 in the first quarter, Gary Gerold has the game already over. I understand the passion, but I think that he is far more critical than he is complementary when it comes to the team.

My two cents:

Putting Marcos Breton on that poll and NOT Mark Kreidler is a sin.
Marcos Breton I feel is far more diverse than Kridler. And I know that a lot of people do not like Breton because of his controversial style especially when it comes to social and racial issues. I like that. Sacramento is way too vanilla and closed minded and struggles to see an open minded view when it comes to social issues. Breton seems to say things that most of us think but are afraid to say. And he is not afraid to admit when he is wrong.

Kriedler to me represents the majority view and that is sometimes boring.

There should be an "Other" option. I'd vote Carmichael Dave. The guy's cool, good to his listeners, and he's legitmately local.

I voted Gary Gerould but it's a tie between him and Kreidler. I find accuracy to be much more interesting than pot-stirring.

Ditto!

I voted for Kara.

Grant is very good and the radio and I think the Gman is better on the tube. Its been atleast 6 years since they switched. I wish they'd go back. Unfortunately the higher ups seem to think 1 white hair guy in their 50's and the other being 65 doesnt look good on TV with the young crowd. As a 31 year old. I say BS to that.
