2 days of summer league down: Jrue Holiday 5-17, Terrence Williams 4-19

I'm just saying, neither are looking that good so far. I know it's on ly two days but the competition is nothing like it will be when they are playing in the NBA, so they both should be dominating.

Dude, it's summer league. These guys were drafted mostly on potential. And two games is the definition of a small sample size. You neglected to mention that Williams had 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals in his first game and then 6 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal in the second. He was still being productive. Shooting is what he has to work on, so it isn't that concerning that he still can't shoot after 2 summer league games. Holiday had 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 4 steals in his first game and 4 rebounds and 3 assists in his second. He's a good defender who needs to work on everything else. He's also one of the youngest players in the draft. It's way, way, way too early to be giving up on these guys.

I think your taking there comments a little too seriously... It is the summer league, and as little as it means it still means something .. no harm in talking about the games and who has looked good or bad thus far .. gotta do something in TDOS.

Yeah, I know. I'm just bracing for the inevitable "Evans only had 2 assists in his first game, he's not a PG!" talk which will be starting up shortly. Every year people make a big deal about who looks good in the summer league and who doesn't and every year it has no correlation to what happens in the regular season. It's great to see the guys getting to play a bit, but let's not kid ourselves into thinking NBA players blossom overnight. Donte Green and Jeryyd Bayless looked like superstars in the summer league last year and both did very little the rest of the season. That doesn't mean they were wasted picks, nor are they future hall-of-famers. These are glorified pick up games basically. They mean something, but not all that much. Sometimes the players who suck it up right away are the ones who work the hardest and get better.
