10 Games in and Bjelica

All-Star
I'm starting to think Bjelica is the Kings bellwether player this season - in the games he plays well in, the team thrives more and vice versa. Its probably coincidental, but will check back after the next 10 games.

Bjelica and Willie this year are playing very much better than Skal and Willie last year. Bagley and Giles off the bench. That is the biggest improvement in the team's performance.

I was looking at some of the more obscure/complicated stats for the team, and not everyone is going to think stats mean that much, but FWIW, he leads the team in PER (Player Efficiency Rating), BPM (Box Plus Minus), WS (Win Share) and VORP (Value Over Replacement Player). He also led for WS48 (Win Share per 48) until this morning, when Kosta Koufos and Troy Williams squeaked past him. His EWA (Estimated Wins Added) is 1.2, trailing only Fox and WCS (1.3). His PPS (Points per Shot) is 1.47, second best behind Williams. Make whatever you want of all that.

It's gotten a little nutty how much better our starters have been than our subs so far; particularly WCS/Fox/Buddy/Bjelica. We're still not at overly huge samples, but at 10 games in, you can start to gleam a few things. Here's the NET On/OFF rating for each of those 4:

Buddy: +22.3 || 314 minutes
WCS: +31.9 || 285 minutes
Bjelica: +22.5 || 266 minutes
Fox: +24 || 319 minutes

We need Bogdan to reinforce our 2nd unit in the absolute worst way. The starters right now are playing liking a legitimately great playoff team while the bench is still stuck being the #KANGZ. Getting Bogdan to stabilize the minutes when the above 4 come out of the game is going to solve a lot of issues we're having.
