    De’Aaron “Austin Reaves Sr.” Fox

Far be it for me to defend a dirty Laker, but lots of good defenders have guys that they just flat out struggle against. Basketball is a game of matchups and for AD, Sabonis being strong and aggressive in the post gives him fits. I think Domas is a tougher cover for him than Jokic is. Just the...

    De’Aaron “Austin Reaves Sr.” Fox

Yes and no. AD and Bam are two of the most switchable and versatile defenders in the NBA. But I still firmly believe that Gobert is incredibly overrated as a defender. He is absolutely a guy who really only blocks shots.

    NFL 2024-2025 Thread

Given all the guys who missed most or all of training camp due to holdouts or injuries (Trent, Aiyuk, CMC, Hufanga, Greenlaw, Pearsall) and the possible Super Bowl hangover, there's a good chance the Niners start the season slowly. I hope it's not the case, but there's a good chance this is a...

[NBA] Comments that don't warrant a thread (TDOS)

Maybe GS of the Curry era. Prior to that they essentially had Run TMC and a LOT of really bad years from the late 80's on. I don't remember too many big names signing with the Warriors. In fact, other than KD, which big names have signed there since? Steph, Klay, Draymond and all their...

No, the Niners early offers were reportedly in the $26M/year range. They came up from that after the failed trade talks with the Patriots (who reportedly offered over $30M/year) and the Steelers (who reportedly offered around $28M/year). But I think the Niners this week essentially said that...

    Keon Tyrese Ellis

One thing Keon isn't, that Huerter is - a movement shooter. This is largely just due to Keon's funky (but effective) shot mechanics. For the Kings offense of the last two seasons, it was a big deal to have two starters (Kevin & Keegan) that could both play off Sabonis in DHOs, running off...

    Keon Tyrese Ellis

+1 One additional benefit of Huerter off the bench is that he's a more natural fit to take the backup SF minutes behind DeRozan than Keon is. I'd like to see Ellis with the starters, Len and Lyles getting the backup C & PF minutes and Monk and Huerter splitting the backup 1-3 minutes. That's...

    Keon Tyrese Ellis

You can make an entire highlight clip just of Keon's stops/strips/blocks on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Desmond Bane alone. The block on Bane at the basket where Keon stares him down afterward is just, *chef kiss*. But my favorite is when Keon blocked him at the three point line after Bane...

IT, JTA, and Lonnie Walker in town for workouts

Has it been determined if McLaughlin's deal is guaranteed or not? If it is there's not a realistic roster spot for IT. Assuming Brown starts Fox, Ellis, DeRozan, Murray and Sabonis, then Malik is essentially the backup PG (while also eating up a lot of back up SG minutes) and McLaughlin is the...

    Keegan “KEEGAN MURRAY” Murray

Of course the Happy Birthday sign is black & white and with the most plain font ever. Don't ever change Keegan. . .

This draft could have all the hallmarks of a Shanahan/Lynch classic: First rounder who doesn't pan out? Maybe, let's see what Pearsall can do when/if healthy Trading up for a running back who doesn't pan out (Guerrendo) only to be saved by the UDFA who is much better (Schrader)? Could be. Not...

The Official Emirates NBA Cup 2024 Thread

The logo is a miss IMO. It looks like a yacht or a cruise ship instead of a clipper ship and it's overly complex. Just like with flags, the visual elements should be distinguishable even when very small or far away and that's just not the case here. The lines on the bow of the ship that...

    Team USA Basketball 2024 (Men's)

54-43 Serbia at halftime. Curry having 20 is at least keeping Team USA from being blown out. Both teams shooting it pretty well overall, but IMO the biggest difference has been Serbia winning the battle on the glass. 20-14 rebounding advantage right now. It would also help if Team USA...

    Team USA Basketball 2024 (Men's)

Team USA down 41-25 to Serbia despite 17 points from Curry. Jokic playing well, but a balanced attack from Serbia overall.

    Kings interested in Robert Williams

There'd be zero reason to include a pick with Huerter. The Blazers need shooting and Williams is a huge question mark due to his injury history, not to mention their logjam of centers. If anything the Kings should be asking for a sweetner if those are the basic parameters of the deal. I'd be...

For all the talk of Kyle winning with pretty much any quarterback, that didn't work out with CJ Beathard, Nick Mullens, or Bryan Hoyer. And if the argument is that any of those guys *could* have won with all the weapons Brock has, that wasn't the case for Trey Lance either. The 49ers were...

    [NBA] 2024 Free Agency mega-thread

If the Kings make the playoffs and are relatively healthy, then they have a very solid rotation. If the starters are Fox, Ellis, DeRozan, Murray, and Sabonis then your 8 man postseason rotation is just that five plus Monk, Huerter and Lyles/Len depending on matchups. Obviously, if any of the...

    [NBA] 2024 Free Agency mega-thread

McNair has definitely shown a willingness to do that in the past, and without a trade the Kings are hard capped at the first apron so they can only offer the veteran's minimum anyway. But with Jalen McDaniels not likely to contribute anything and Devin Carter not available to start the season...
