“RUN IT BACK!” / Monte needs to fix this.

Dallas didn't put on a master class in asset management but they did in "going for it". It's like with the Suns, if and when they are forced to rebuild they will likely net a major haul as long as they don't let their superstars just fall of the books.

Kings picking 13th overall (formerly the draft lotto thread)

Can't see that package netting Murray. De'Andre Hunter, that should be the target. The Kings have to look at players with some negatives most likely and if they do, fit and upside is the way to go even if it's a gamble.

Kings trade rumor SZN 2023-2024 edition!

Monte really should be making a play for Grant and now is the time, but if Barnes can be moved instead of Sasha that would be better. Sasha is someone that still has some upside because his per 48's are decent and his salary is much better coming off the bench than Barnes'. If Barnes moves to...

Kings picking 13th overall (formerly the draft lotto thread)

This is the type of draft that's more about scouting than order if you're keeping the pick. Solid players all around, but if you find a star it's probably going to be a combo guard in this particular draft and trade wise those don't have a ton of value these days.

Kings picking 13th overall (formerly the draft lotto thread)

I wonder who they think is the best player. If it's Risacher definitely time for Monte to get on the horn and see if he can pick up a wing for cheap.

“RUN IT BACK!” / Monte needs to fix this.

Dallas basically made those types of moves at a point where the Kings needed to. Now Monte is a bit behind the 8 ball here. How does Monte play catch up? I guess we'll find out.

    Following Potential *2024* Draftees

I think he's just a bit more athletic with better lateral mobility than Frank. Also his natural scoring instincts are more pronounced. Brad survived playing next to bigs for a good chunk of his career and the league is starting to trend up again in size so I think Filipowski could be OK next to...

    Following Potential *2024* Draftees

With the league having more success with size and skill over super smallball I think Filipowski is looking a lot better as a target. The more I watch, the more I see Brad Miller. Filipowski and Domas can share minutes and hold down C.

I wasn't talking about being over the cap, the Kings would be over the LUXURY TAX line. No Duarte salary and that's a cushion.

Kings trade rumor SZN 2023-2024 edition!

Stewart is on the Pistons so anything you can gather from him as a player has to be somewhat skewed, lol. That organization has drafted well and tanked almost everything after that point. It would be intriguing as to what coach Brown could do for Stewart. Stewart seems like the type of player...

Kings trade rumor SZN 2023-2024 edition!

Brown should be a target IMO. I think the easy answer is you run Ellis, Brown, and Keegan considering it's unlikely Portis would be gettable to begin with. Brown played mostly PF with the Nets. I'm not sure that's totally feasible with teams getting bigger but he's kind of like a poor mans PJ...

Yeah, but with Malik and his impending free agency, that's literally the possible difference between paying dollar for dollar or not. I'm sure Monte will be making some type of moves here but he's down to the wire to some extent.

    FIRE MIKE BROWN

The only issue is the Kings are built nothing like those teams. The Kings when playing pressure on the ball rather than Warriors style holdover defense where helping off the corners is the goal launched to tops in the league. More of that on a consistent basis and the defense should be fine.

My question is whether or not Monte saw him as a rotation guy. My thing is still how many "rotation" guys did Monte expect to have? Even as is it was it was stretching it. Monte had to see his potential cap punishment coming right?

That's the thing though, any player that can run pick and roll can effectively be your PG. All you do is run pnr through your guys and that's all. For coaches, sorry, your team is set to idiot mode haha.

But right now that bit of salary is the difference between potentially having a full MLE or a taxpayers. That's pretty major for teams kind of stuck roster/cap wise.

That was also a stab at trying to get Domas another guy that already knew how to play off of him. The mistake at the moment is picking up that option. Well, that or not slotting him into a role. This is the problem when you have 10+ players really needing to play. Players like Jones should be...

Good move firing Vogel. Dude had how many tough, hard nosed forwards on his roster and continuously went to guard ball. I was shocked that Roddy got so little burn after the trade. He didn't know how to run a superteam style offense. Superteam guys sink or swim the team, and you fill it out with...

Kings trade rumor SZN 2023-2024 edition!

Are the Kings a Bruce Brown and Bobby Portis away from anything? Portis is productive and has some nice turn around type moves but it's a gamble because this is still a team basically reliant on Fox getting this team 30 a night. Maybe not since the defense is better but it's better to be safe...

The real plus with Brown though is he would be a fit guy and take a big chunk of money off of Monte's books for 2025. Yeah, I don't see the Bucks moving Portis either though.
