The one thing I did like from Jimmer was he wasn't picking up his dribble as much once he got into the lane. He either went up for a shot, passed immediately, and once kept his dribble alive and brought the ball back out. Much better in that aspect today. Definitely still feeling out his game...
That stat is a good one, but can be misleading sometimes. You have to take into account which opposing players are on the floor while they're out there. Evans-starters Jimmer-reserves. But with the exception of Jimmers last 2-3 minutes, I thought he played good tonight. Seemed a little gunshy at...
Yup, great screens, communication, post defense, boxing out. I'll admit I wasn't super excited about the signing, but seeing what he brings to the team has me pretty excited. He is the definition of a glue guy.
Obvioulsy its not a perfect move, but Salmons is an upgrade. And with so many SFs on the roster, there will almost assuredly be more movement before the seasons starts.
This is the key, and maybe its hoping for too much. Hopefully he's realized he's not good enough to be a go to player on a good team and can focus on playing D, running the break, moving the ball, and hitting open shots when given the opportunity.
So many things wrong with Hollingers analysis there. He claims they got a worse player based on PER, he's right in that regard, but the improved perimeter defense Salmons brings vs. Beno "The Matador" Udrih cannot be adequately measured with PER.
He argues why go older on a rebuilding team...
It's currently the largest and longest contract on the team. Will he be even the sixth-best player on the team next year?
Only because the whole team is basically still on rookie contracts. He doesn't have to be the main guy this time around. He's here to fill a role. Play good D, hit open...
