    DeMar DeRozan Rumor

Yeah, if DeRozan can be acquired in a sign and trade for some combination of salary and just one pick going out, I might prefer that to caving and dealing two picks for Kuzma (which might be Monte’s fallback plan if he can’t land a bigger name).

Wasn’t Mann off the table for Harden?

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

I will say it would be very Monte-esque to be tied to LaVine for forever and end up with DeRozan. That was the story with Huerter (Collins was the speculation) and I think one other transaction that escapes me at the moment.

I mean, sign me up for either, but with them cornering the market on former Denver SGs, and still having their young guys to play, do they really need Huerter, either?

No disrespect to Tina, but anyone here have NBA Today on DVR? Not sure how much thought to give this…

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

As I posted in the Ingram thread, DDR is interesting. Not the greatest fit, but definitely talented, and if you stagger minutes I think he and Monk could be fun on offense while Fox sits. I just saw he was looking for a one year deal to try to come back on the market next year. After I posted...

    Kings after Ingram

yeah, if it’s just one of the defensive role player types like DFS, I feel it’s likely Brown just keeps starting Barnes and everyone here loses their minds. DeRozen is interesting. Not the greatest fit, but definitely talented, and if you stagger minutes I think he and Monk could be fun on...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

Not necessarily. The Pelicans still need a center, and the rosters of several other teams remain unbalanced as wel. It may be that not many teams ste in a place where they are willing to pay up for Ingram. We shall see.

    Kings after Ingram

Yeah, the appeal of Ingram would be that he would not cost Keegan. Unlike Lauri.

Right. Presti the rebuilding GM had the luxury of working with the assets built by… Sam Presti. Monte, of course, did not have a similar luxury. Nor was he hired with any sort of leeway for a full rebuild, I’d imagine, given the playoff drought the franchise had been through at the time.

I still think there’s a potential for a Huerter bounce back, and think he’s still valuable if he’s moving off the ball and teams have to chase him, even if he’s not shooting, but the guard rotation is crowded, there’s no way around that.

I’d probably add Cam Johnson to that list. To me the order depends on the asking price. Multiple picks for an all star like Lauri, Ingram, or even Randle? Sure. For someone who’s closer to a high level role player like Kuzma or Johnson? I’d try to hold out for just one. Grant is somewhere in...

Yeah, for better or for worse, the radio guys (Dave is just as bad) don’t see themselves as traditional journalists so they throw this kind of stuff out there. It would be nice if the Bee still had someone like Amick to do some actual reporting, but the next good scoop Jason Anderson gets will...

Taking protections off the pick would probably make it easier to send our later one(s) to the Pelicans, too

Yeah, Huerter’s probably not enough for a Wendell Carter or Brook Lopez.

Yeah, I used to enjoy digging into the intricacies of the CBA, but I’ve lost patience with the new one and the various aprons. I get the concept, though. If you take advantage of certain rules that apply if you are below a specific threshold, you can’t later add salary to go above that threshold.

Wonder if it’s just a short term arrangement, where he gets a guarantee higher than the MLE (which was probably what he was looking at elsewhere), and the pacers retain an asset, but they have the option to move him to a different team down the line.
