I think part of it is also one of those things where if Keegan were drafted 14th he'd be considered a great pick. Being 1-4 is always one of those things where if you aren't a star fans will crap all over it just because. Keegan has developed into a highly productive role player and that's essentially his role since he's rarely going to shoot more than 10-12 shots in any given game.

And yet I'd still say he'd go 4-5 in the draft based on his current production, Jalen Williams has made a huge leap, Shaeden Sharpe looks like he could play himself into the top 5. Compared to the consensus top 6 he's only behind Chet and Paolo right now.

Yeah, it's all literally just the number people look at. People never actually relate these things to reality. It's the same reason why in the eyes of fans a number 1 pick is untouchable prior to the draft but if it's a bad draft it really doesn't matter much, not all number 1 picks are equal once a player is associated with it.

In exactly one month, all 30 teams around the league will be working their phones to determine if they will be involved in any deals before the 2025 NBA trade deadline. Nobody ever knows what will occur at the trade deadline. There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Kings as an organization right now. Brown was fired without any warning, and the organization did so over a phone call while he was on his way to the team plane for their next road game.

This trade is complicated for the sake of being complicated but it would essentially end with the Kings having

Domas/Lyles/Len
Cam/Jabari/Jae
Keegan/Tate
Demar/Keon
Monk/Carter/Sheppard
With the Kings getting the Rockets 2028 first as well

Not sure why the hell the Kings would need Cam
Johnson in a scenario where we’re already getting Jabari without sacrificing any of our forwards already on the roster so I think I’d rather just keep the extra Rockets picks and Huerter but that’s not a bad roster for a retooling if the day comes.

would be pleased with haul for fox, but agree would rather have extra picks than cam. But smith/reed/frp is a great starting point

TBH, I really like this trade!

Fox, Lyles and Huerter for Jabari Smith, Cam Johnson, Reed Sheppard seems like an overall net surplus. The 2028 Rockets 1st round pick could become a nice bonus, since the Rockets won't have much spacing with a lineup of Fox, Jalen, Amen, Tari and Sengun.

The Kings could also send Tate to the Hornets for Nick Richards.

F: Murray........ DDR, (Cam)
F: Jabari......... Cam, (Murray)
