Do the Kings really need Ja Morant?

I think it really depends on the draft. If we finish in the top 5, I'm open to doing LaVine + 2nd for Ja. IF we finish 6-9, then its likely we end up with one of Flemings, Mikel, Acuff, Buries which means Ja should be an easy no. It saves us some tax room this year, gets us a younger player...

[Rumor] Amick: Kings, Raptors expected to pick back up Sabonis trade discussions this summer (and other talk about the vets)

I don't want to do that. I don't want to touch Poeltl/Barrett no matter what even if it comes with a 1st. I said that's my guess. We just saw Toronto wouldn't give a 1st at the deadline, do we think that has changed? I think the Toronto now says, we will take more money from you, +...

[Rumor] Amick: Kings, Raptors expected to pick back up Sabonis trade discussions this summer (and other talk about the vets)

My guess is something like - Monk/Sabonis for Dick/Poeltl/Barrett/2nds Saves the Kings money. Raptors get a legit starting center and a 6th man. I hope we look at Charlotte - Green/Williams/Salaun and if we can get a pick i'd be even happier. But as long as its just expiring contracts so...

[Trade] Warriors have obvious Jonathan Kuminga trade demand after latest Kings reports

The best outcome here for the Kings is that GS is really struggling offensively and accepts something like Demar + 2nds. I'm sure GS fans would be concerned about spacing, but Demar at this stage is a better 3pt shooter than Kuminga. He could lead the bench unit when Curry sits, but also stand...

[Trade] Warriors have obvious Jonathan Kuminga trade demand after latest Kings reports

Good on the Kings not sending an unprotected 1st. I was interested to see how Kuminga could perform on another team, and obviously we are desperate for a forward but that was never a good outcome for us. If the rumors continue with Kuminga when he becomes available in January, I hope our offer...

[Trade] Warriors have obvious Jonathan Kuminga trade demand after latest Kings reports

The report I saw is they increased their offer to 3/75. That lines up pretty perfectly with a Demar trade if it's a flat 25. Last season the Warriors had a ton of issues scoring the ball even when Jimmy/Curry played. Demar would be the perfect bench leader to help increase their offensive...

Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

And the problem with wishing and praying for a shotblocking 4, who? JJJ isn't available and that's about the only guy who checks that box. I always wanted to go after someone like Eason to play that spot. Long, athletic, can guard multiple positions, can help, guard on ball, versatile. We are...

Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

The thing with OKC, they don't really accept non-defenders in their rotation. People mention Caruso/Dort a lot, but Shai, Wallace, Wiggins, Williams, are all really good defenders as well. To me that is a culture/team building philosophy. I thought for a second maybe Perry was heading that...

Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

So when you watch the Knicks, you don't think OG/Bridges/Hart had any impact on helping cover for Brunson/Kat defensively? This was my argument with the 22/23 Kings. Keegan was a start to that, but adding Demar, Huerter, Barnes around those 3 never made sense. The team had to prioritize...

Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

I agree with the trend to play smaller. I think not only it's playing faster/more shooting, its just that we have an influx of talent at that size, and right now nobody on the floor can be a liability. One thing I noticed was the types of players. Take Josh Hart, Nesmith, Dort, Caruso, NAW. All...

Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

I was saying that more so in response to the people in the thread who were saying "old positions are dead". I don't care if you want to call it SF/PF or Wing/Forward. Doesn't really matter to me. I actually agree with you. And If you run 3 guards and a non rim protecting center consistently like...

Positions don't really matter, but length and athleticism still do. If we had 4 Keegan Murrays nobody would be arguing positions. But when we have a roster full of guards and 1 forward and 1 center, you are in trouble.

Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

Long term the only 3 i'm confident in on the roster are Nique, Keon, Murray. In a perfect world, I think if those 3 take up all of your 2/3 minutes. But we've been asking for Keegan to be a 3 for 2 years and we got Demar. So I can't imagine we get our wish anytime soon.

Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

I think it just depends on the rest of the roster. If you have Keon/Nique/Keegan at 2-4, you will be somewhat small.. But if you have a big defensive center, and a decent size point guard, we just saw a lot of playoff teams go this route. I'm not opposed to him being a backup wing and covering...

Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

Well this was the depth chart you wrote - Schroeder/russ/carter Lavine/monk/ellis DDR/Nique Keegan/Eubanks Sabonis/max Even if you assume Carter and Nique don't play. Where to the minutes come? Schroder (28) Russ (20) LaVine (24) Monk (24) DDR (20) LaVine (9) Keon (15) Keegan (34) DDR (14)...
