We've made an offer to Monta?

If it happens to be in the ballpark of the 11 million a year that should have gone to Tyreke, Brick's head is going to explode. I hope for his sake, and the sake of the Kings, that Monta signs elsewhere.

I hope this DOESN'T happen. I want McLemore to be given a chance to succeed as the starting SG. Ellis is not going to accept a backup role.
I would think Monta would be the PG and Mac the SG with Vasquez coming off the bench. 3 guard rotation.

And I almost want this to happen just to see Brick's meltdown. At least it would be entertaining.

Really? so in the article it says if we amnesty Salmons we would have 10 mil to sign Ellis?

I guess that is true if you don't count our draft picks? Then we could sign draft picks after Ellis and go over the cap? Where is that cap expert?

Can Ellis play PG? I always thought of him as an undersized shooting guard.

After an increasing belief the Chicago Bulls had been in position to acquire Monta Ellis, the Sacramento Kings have separated themselves as frontrunners to sign the free agent guard on a three-year contract, league sources told RealGM on Tuesday afternoon. RealGM

Agreed. Rainmaker, Padrino, and Brick collective meltdown might destroy the universe.

What this means we have SOME sort of trade lined up with Milwaukee. Or we're going to amnesty Salmons. Can't sign him straight up anymore. Our cap is basically gone with the taking Moute for nothing

I also thought it was reported that we haven't talked about amnestying salmons?

With Morrow close to signing with the Pelicans, I'm praying Dallas gets Ellis.

So if both Atlanta and Dallas is looking at Andrew Bynum also do we have to wait for Bynum's decision , in other words is Ellis or Bynum the consolation prize?

unless its like 5 mil a year we can't unless we amnesty Salmons. Then we are stuck with on one SF. somebody has to be traded before any of this can happen.

He's averaged around 6 assists for his career...not bad. I think of him in the Parker/Westbrook mold. Attack lead guard. I think Pete'D/Malone like him because he can get his own shot, and especially at the end of shot clock situations.

And his head would explode for good reason. I'm really not all that thrilled this appears to be Vivek's guy and not PDA's. It's been reported it was Vivek who placed the call when Monta opted out and Vivek who's been hot after him. You'd think our GM would tell him this isn't a good idea but that doesn't appear to be the way our FO is currently run.

It would have made more sense to just keep Tyreke if they really want Ellis. I just don't see how Ellis is better fit than Evans.

Not even $5mil a year. Our cap is all but gone as we currently stand.

So, Salmons amnesty and/or a S&T are the only ways this gets done

Funny, because we let a younger version of that who's a better all around player walk. Unless Monta comes far cheaper than 11M per, that line of thinking doesn't work.

Oh, that is true too.. I take it back once again.
PDA, make it happen!

Wow. Sometimes the need for emotive excess around here is beyond belief...

Not to mention it is even more confusing since they supposedly see Ellis as this lead guard in the mold of Westbrook, Parker, etc, yet they traded Tyreke for a pure PG. So where is that supposed to leave Vasquez. Why would they not have traded Tyreke for a position of need if Vivek has really had Ellis in mind for some time, as reports have suggested.
