Everyone needs to be quiet and think logically..... Do you really believe the Kings are going to sport a team with IT,McCallum,Vasquez,Thornton, and Jimmer as Guards... then Cousins, Hayes, JT, Patterson, and Landry at PF with no solution at the SF spot? No.... I can pretty much guarantee that one or two of the players mentioned above are going to shipped away. It makes to much sense.

What need does this fill though? PDA said he wanted to improve passing and shot blocking yesterday right? And find a SF. How does this accomplish one of those?

PDA is sure doing a fabulous job. He won't spend 44 million on Tyreke, but throws 26 million at Landry?! I guess we're going to continue to stockpile undersized bigs and no defense SG gunners.

On the positive side, we're looking good on the tank for wiggins sweepstakes.

If and when those good moves are made, I'll be first in line to celebrate. Until then, these are not good moves and trying to excuse them because of an unseen method behind the madness is silly. We've sucked for a reason and these moves are doing nothing to change that. What's so hard to understand about that?

I have no issue with this providing more moves are coming. Carl Landry as a bench inside scorer can be a great asset like he was for GSW this year. Asking him to do more than that is a mistake. If we use him right, and I think Malone will, this can be fine.

Gotta be more coming, though.

I held my tongue for the FO letting tyreke go for Grevis, giving them the benefit of the doubt & hoping they know better.

But this move is ridiculous. Both JT & PP are better, cheaper & younger than Landry. Baring a trade for an all star, PF is a position that we are actually good at. We are set at the 4. Unless JT or PP will be packaged for an all star SF, I must say PDA has shown no signs of knowing what he is doing.

I could be remembering this entirely wrong, but I believe Landry is an incredibly efficient player. And PDA is a stats geek so he probably feels we got a steal.

We are definitely the front runners for Wiggins at this point. 25 wins might be a stretch. The best the thing to do right now is max Cousins and then sit him out with an ingrown toenail or something. I don't know how he's going to take having an even worse team then last year.

Ok i will say this... Carl Landry is an absolutely solid character, hard working vet dude. something that we desperately need in the locker room and on this team. He can play and this SCREAMS POTENTIAL TRADE happening soon. upon hearing this news i laughed. makes no sense unless you have another big being part of a TRADE package with one of our many chucker guards

How about Jimmer+Patterson for Asik? Rockets get back their stretch 4 and another floor spreader in Jimmer whose defense is patched up by Dwight. We get our energy rim protecter to put next to Cousins.

C:Asik/JT
PF:Cousins/Landry
SF:?/Salmons/Outlaw
SG:McLemore/Thornton
PG:Vasquez/IT/McCallum

thats still leaves us with the option to amnesty Salmons, and Thornton and Hayes and perhaps JT as potential trade pieces.

I would assume that, looking more than two years out, PDA's roster is ___, McLemore, ____, Thompson / Landry, Cousins. Vasquez might be there if he grows and works at the right number. IT could be back. Everybody else is traded away or walks in 2 years.

Landry is a professional basketball player, who can play, fits next to Cousins, is a good teammate and properly paid for at least 3 of those years at 6.5 per season. This is fine.

If you are looking at this as ... where does Carl Landry fit into this roster, which I expect in win in 1-2 years, it doesn't make sense. I'm assuming that most of our returning players will be gone ... many much sooner than later.

David Aldridge ‏@daldridgetnt 15m

Great pickup for Kings, who beat out the Clippers for Landry's services.

Sam Amick ‏@sam_amick 12m

Landry Exhibit A of how new ownership changing things there. Safe to say he had no interest in returning if previous regime still in place
Or he had no other choices, this better be a 1 year deal

So hiring Malone and drafting McLemore and McCallum (dont sleep on him) are bad moves? This roster is a WORK IN PROGRESS, It is July 6th, we haven't even played summer league games. This is Vivek's, Malone's and PDA's Sacramento Kings, you couldn't expect them to just keep everything as is, especially since we have stunk for years now. This is a new project that will surely keep some remnants of the past, but make no mistake moves are far from over.
here's my problem with these moves you cite (aside from the fact that all three are rookies that haven't proven a thing yet): Malone was Vivek's call, not that of PDA, McLemore was a complete and utter no-brainer and McCallum is currently competing with at least Vasquez and Thomas for PG minutes. hey, maybe PDA will turn some of our redundant guard rotation and equally redundant big men into something actually useful. the moves so far, however, do not inspire me with the necessary confidence to say it is going to happen, though.

So we are going to support our franchise cornerstone by signing a redundant piece to play next to him? DMC and Landry do not work together. This is not even a theoretical. It has been proven. You can't have two low post scorers on the floor at the same time when one of them is only valuable as a low post scorer. Can't defend, can't rebound. I am starting to get this sick feeling that DMC may be gone after this year.
Yeah this bewilders me. Landry and Cousins didn't pair well together. Patterson has done the best next to Cousins because he can hit an outside shot. I thought they would be looking for a defensive force or stretch guy in the big man market.

Of course we dont know if this is where our cap space ultimately goes but if we end up essentially trading Reke for Vasquez and Landry I might set myself on fire.

Lets be objective here.... We lost Evans... We've added Vasquez, McClemore, and Landry..... We've gotten better as a team.

I agree with you, we should be a better team. Not good enough to be good, not bad enough to have a good chance at a high draft pick. This being in the middle greatly frustrates me.

Get ready for something like Patterson for Ariza and more teeth nashing
