[Game] Kings @ Jazz - 11/23/12

Haven't you seen the poll, where 32% think Jimmer will be an all-star?
He will be, that I guarantee. Obviously every mistake he makes is compounded by Smart pulling him and giving him such sporadic minutes, but when he is finally handed the ball and is told the decisions are his, he will flourish and be one of the best guards in the game. As of now, he has to play on egg shells.

After listening to Harpring, and seeing how half the Utah broadcast was about Jimmer not playing enough, I can see why his fanboys are completely delusional.

Well they can have him. Please trade jimmer and some change to Utah for Gordon Hayward. We would lose a guy who can't play D and wouldn't have to listen to tyreeeke. That's 2 thumbs way up!!!!

What Smart said was exactly correct. They played one on one in the last quarter. All they had to do is run the offense and they walk out with a win. They didn't do it. They lost.

The stupidity of the play in this game seemed to accelerate as the game progressed. They started out smart and slowly but surely Stupidity built momentum. With each one-on-one play Stupidity got stronger. After the one-on-one play then the forced plays started and added even more to the Stupidity momentum. Then the lack of poise increased Stupidity. Finally, at the end of the game, with the Evans' daydreaming on the switch and the players having no clue who should take the ball out of bounds and who should get the ball on the last shot, all that was left was Stupidity.

Gordon Hayward is very good as well, and is also under-utilized. That trade would certainly help both teams, as Utah needs a starting SG.

Which offense would that be?

See, there's this little-known secret about coaching: you can actually take the players out of the game who aren't running what you want them to run.

Shhh! Don't tell anybody.

What we should have seen was around the 6-7 min the lineup should have been Tyreke, Thornton, Salmons or Johnson, JT, Cuz. Maybe even leave Jimmer or bring in Brooks and have Tyreke slide to SF. Instead the starters came in with about 4 min left, and the guy who was clearly the best player in the building for 3 quarters was brought back in with 3 min to go, completely iced. Theres no way Petrie and the Magoofs as dumb as they aren't questioning the coach after tonight

If the lead in the Sports section of the Bee tomorrow isn't "Why did Smart leave the bench in so long, when they were getting killed?", then the beat writers all need to be fired.

Jimmer plays bigger guards better than small, quick ones. Anyhow, it doesn't matter...PG/SG, it doesn't matter. Jimmer can play either/or, depending on the matchup. Guys like Nash, Bibby, and so many others got it done while not being great defensively. Why overstate his defense as if it's worse than Nash or Bibby or Dirk or many other greats?

What do you want to bet me that I'm wrong?
I guarantee, with the right circumstances, Jimmer is an all-star. Jimmer is an elite offensive player, he's scoring an incredible 122 points per 100 possessions. If he played for a decent coach, such as D'antoni, he'd be an elite PG. There is no doubt in my mind. Jimmer is facing an uphill battle, obviously, as he's playing for coach Smart and for an organization with no direction. Maybe some team will give him the ball and let him go one day.

If Jimmer isn't an all-star in year 5 of his career, I will give you 500 dollars.

You just compared jimmer to 2 hall of famers and Bibby who is an all-time sacramento great. I cant even explain how stupid that is

The only way that Fredette is an All-Star in five years is if they create a third conference, and Fredette is the only guard in it.

Give him the ball and let him go??? This isnt college. This isnt BYU. No NBA team is going to hand this guy the ball and just say go. And there is a reason for that. He is not an elite offensive player. He is a really good shooter but thats it. sure their is a place in the nba for him IF he can improve defensivley but until then he is never going to get more than about 15 min a night on any team.

Keith Smart owes me a new DirecTV remote. being that i was forced to aggressively hurl it at my wall thanks to the worst coaching i've ever seen in a NBA game

someone close to Keith let me know where i can send the bill

can I please get in on that? you'd probably even get action if you said he'd be a starter in 3 years time, cuz even that seems rather doubtful at this point.

No, i'm not a troll; i'm a fan of Jimmer Fredette.
I am a Jimmer fan too. In fact I am not even a Kings fan and you are starting to pee me off. You are doing Jimmer no favors among the fan base with your constant over the top hyperbole. Jimmer will get a chance to show if he can play or not. It may not be with the Kings but he will get a legitimate shot at starting sometime during his carrer. It will work itself out. You constantly shoving how good Jimmer is going to be down Kings fans throats is getting really tiresome....even for a non-Kings fan.

Way to keep up the persona lol.

100% agree with this... Are there any other Jimmer fans in the forum that continue to needle like this? Whether or not any of his statements will bear out to be true, he is NEVER going to convince the Kings fans that he's right. That is Jimmer's job to do with his play, and he's doing a decent job of that this year on his own (defensively he isn't getting killed as often and you can't argue with his shooting). Fortunately, the sensible forum members choose to ignore guys like this, but it sucks that NEARLY EVERY THREAD has to turn into a Jimmer thread because of this one fan's input. When the Sactown faithful start saying things like, "I want Jimmer to succeed, but am starting to hate him because of his annoying fans," they aren't joking, and soon enough you sabotage Jimmer by turning the team's fans against him. I follow this board a lot, and you can tell who the Jimmer fans are, but there is only one that continues to troll. It smells of Red to me. ;)
