Anaheim proposes 75 million to lure Kings

If you were Samueli, why would you want to buy up all the limited minority partners? It essentially buys you nothing because it's a limited (no vote in team moves) partnership. It's really a sparkly investment with no say-so in how things are run. Samueli has to buy up the Maloofs part of the ownership to gain control of the team. If you notice, the minority owners are mostly long term guys who aren't turning ownership over very much. It's more like a nest egg that could gain some nice value, but could be hard to sell.

I'm, sure they have an idea of what they want to do about the repayment of the loan here. Maybe the answer lies in how prickly the Mayor has been about this lately. Something in the neighborhood of litigation maybe?

heh, good luck with that. could take years to sell and they have to pay off the loan now.
Does it really matter how they come up with the money for it? If they sign the deal with Anaheim, you can be sure they'll have the money. The Maloofs may not be the smartest businessmen, but they are not stupid enough to move without covering their behinds. If they move, they will get the money from somewhere.

Just saying they cant count on selling the arco property to come up with the money owed the city. They will need to have money from other sources.
