SF Giants 2010

Well with those two trades we would have a much better offense, and 3 proven top notch hitters; Pablo, Hanley, and Prince. I think the Hanley Ramirez is a fair trade especially with the attitude problems they are currently having between each other.

For Prince Fielder, they aren't contending and are looking at letting him walk, and would be better off trading him for something. If we couldnt get a deal done I would maybe, just maybe trade a Wheeler for him, but probably not.

If you still feel that it is too improbable then I suppose you could trade Molina and a few of the prospects instead for Victor Martinez and stick him at first. His numbers are terrible and he is turning into a liability as the full time catcher, and they have their first baseman. Leaving nowhere for him to go if they wish to get any production out of him.

Also, If we are worried about our pitching, instead of Cain + Bumgarner, Maybe do as UKRAINE said and trade Cain+ wheeler and an above average prospect for Ramirez.

There are tons of possibilities to get a legitimate offense into place and become legitimate contenders.

1. Lincecum
2. Zito
3. Sanchez
4. Bumgarner
5. Wellemeyer

We also have 6 great starting pitcher candidates:

Lincecum
Zito
Cain
Sanchez
Bumgarner
Wheeler

And have one to trade with IMO

For the offensive production we would receive it would be well worth it !

And the Farm would be fairly well depleted, but it would send a message that we want to win NOW, while we still have a good pitching staff, and this team could be together for years because they are young !

The only problem would be the salary ...

yup ... cant say I'm surprised. Wellemeyer is an absolute gas can.

Big Time Timmy Jim tomorrow !

We should bring up MadBum IMO. He can't be any worse than Wellemeyer and he's gotten back on track after having a few problems with his velocity and control by fixing his mechanics. We'd have 5 legit starting pitchers. I'm sorry but Wellemeyer blows, we got to get that guy out of town ASAP.

There's got to be something we can do to help the offense that wouldn't be so costly? A legit lead off hitter would help. Or we could just put Torres at lead off, Franchez 2nd, and put Pablo back in 3rd. But there's got to be a trade. I know getting Ramirez or Fielder would be great and I'd even keep an eye on Fielder later in the season to see if he can be gotten around the trading deadline. But you guys know who our GM is right? Sabean is garbage. The guy does stuff like sign a 35 year old coming off of a bad wrist surgery to a 2 year 12 million dollar contract(DeRosa). He got robbed of a prospect for Garko who was a bust for us. If we make a trade for someone that's a big name he's going to give up the farm. :(

DFA Brandon Medders, send Wellemeyer to long relief/blowout innings, and call up someone.

Im not sure MadBum should come up quite yet...His struggles in spring/early season were due to mechanical issues, so I think he should stay in Fresno with the people who corrected the problem for a little longer to ensure everything stays in tact. The guy is only 20, so there isn't to much of a hurry with him.

But I do agree we need a new 5th starter.

What a pitiful display of pitching today. GG offense though.

For all the dislike that seems to be hovering around Freddy Sanchez, I like him. He is a good hitter and great for us in the two spot.

Yeah I think having him at 2 and having Pablo at 3 will work out great for us. The only thing I didn't get mainly about tonight's game was where was Bengie? He left again. I know he didn't finish last night's game but I figured that was cuz it's a blow out. Tonight he left with like 2 innings left. He's slumping and if he's battling injuries I can see us calling up Posey sometime.

The Giants are really disappointing me right now. They finally opened Catcher for Posey. I KNOW they are so much better, but with our starting pitchers struggling, it's really exposing our batting weakness. I'm hoping for the best though!

I was at the only winning game vs. the Red Sox and it was even disappointing. The fans need to buy more seats...

Madison Bumgarner's stats -

1-2

22 IP

15 k's

1 WHIP and 2.86 ERA

Pretty darn good for a rookie, but what's most impressive is those three starts have come against the Red Sox, AT Colorado and AT Milwaukee. Looks like we have another keeper.

I just have to bump up this thread to say: Holy cow, how good is this kid, Buster Posey?!? At 23, he approaches an at-bat like a grizzled old veteran. He doesn't even look like he's trying to hit for power, and he pops off with 7 HR and 19 RBI already this month!
