You know, I'm not going to spoil the game, in case it hasn't aired yet on the west coast, but let it be known that I will hereafter only refer to Fowles as "GodSylla."

EDIT - And another thing: that girl is, to borrow an expression from my youth, "country all day."

Quarter Finals - USA vs South Korea

Amen to that....

Sylvia Fowles' 26pts/14reb + 56% FG for Team USA meant a loooong uphill day at the office for Team South Korea with 104-60 as a final.

Next Up...a semi final meeting with Russia on Thursday. Australia will meet China in the other half of the bracket.

I saw a little bit of this game while I was briefly awake, it was still close so it may have been late in the first quarter when I first felt my eyes close again and it was a 20pt game the next time I remember seeing anything before I fell back asleep a second time. Sorry I missed Fowles finish going off like that.

I did see Kara drop a 3 and Breen and Meyers tell me how wonderful she's played during the tournament....:)

I found it odd however, during Meyers' conversation about Penny Taylor - whose ankle I swear I saw roll sideways so it was touching the floor in their game against the Czech Republic :shudder: talk about her in the past tense in relation to Phoenix. That was weird.

Is anybody going to the Gold Medal Viewing Party @ Center Court?? I think my family and I our going to go, since it will be my last Monarchs event before I move.

I know it is open to Season Ticket Holders. Is it open to the public? We had to respond to an email to sign up since space will be limited.

In the e-mail it asked how many people you were bringing...so they get an idea.

I'll be there, should be a rowdy fun time...a bit early;)

GO USA...BRING HOME THE GOLD!

Early? Heck, we're getting a whole extra hour of sleep this time compared to the start time for the gold medal game in Athens when that viewing party rolled. I'm going to enjoy the extra ZZZs ;)

Let's Go USA!! Go Kara!! :)

There's still a sliiiiiiim chance I'll venture out there tomorrow morning, but I'm not sure I'll be functioning yet. I didn't RSVP, don't know if that makes a difference.

I actually woke up at 6:30am to watch the game Live!!!! Was it worth it????

YES IT WAS!!!! And Kara Lawson was AWESOME!!!! 15 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast, 5/5 FG, 1/1 3PT, 4/4 FT. She showed that not only did she deserve to be there, but she will be part of the cornerstone of USA Basketball for years to come. Very proud for her and the Sacramento Monarchs and the rest of the ladies of Team USA.
