whew...I know we were concerned about this..but with the win today Team USA secured a berth in the medal rounds. It was close at the half, but USA prevailed with a big second half 93-55.

Next Up...a semi final meeting with Russia on Thursday. Australia will meet China in the other half of the bracket.

I saw a little bit of this game while I was briefly awake, it was still close so it may have been late in the first quarter when I first felt my eyes close again and it was a 20pt game the next time I remember seeing anything before I fell back asleep a second time. Sorry I missed Fowles finish going off like that.

I did see Kara drop a 3 and Breen and Meyers tell me how wonderful she's played during the tournament....

I found it odd however, during Meyers' conversation about Penny Taylor - whose ankle I swear I saw roll sideways so it was touching the floor in their game against the Czech Republic :shudder: talk about her in the past tense in relation to Phoenix. That was weird.

YES IT WAS!!!! And Kara Lawson was AWESOME!!!! 15 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast, 5/5 FG, 1/1 3PT, 4/4 FT. She showed that not only did she deserve to be there, but she will be part of the cornerstone of USA Basketball for years to come. Very proud for her and the Sacramento Monarchs and the rest of the ladies of Team USA.
