Abatemarco is NOT leaving for the Univ. of Colorado

*****Bzdelik called the speculation "comical" and reiterated he was unsure where it had originated.*****

*****Abatemarco told The Washington Post in April 2005, "I don't miss the college game. I don't need to chase a job. I'm making good money (and) I like what I'm doing."*****

Working as the Monarchs assistant coach is "making good money?"
Am I missing something or is all this "comical."

Well I must be missing something too...

I mean because he is not making hundreds of thousands of dollars that isn't good money. Okay yeah in comparision to what some other are making at the NBA and the Men's NCAA side the money is not comparable. That doesn't mean that the income is not good. Just that on their side is is substantially better.

Take it from someone who is going thru it. Sometimes better money is not all it is cracked up to be. If you can live comfortably, and enjoy what you are doing there is alot to be said for that, rather than chasing the money for money sake.
Let me be clear with that. If he was looking to be a head coach soon, then it might be different. Then again Coach T could be blowing smoke up our butts.

But my point is define what good money is. Do you make good money? Do you make more than Coach T? See my point? It is all relative.

I don't know what to think also which is the jest of what I was getting at - more tongue and cheek than drop dead serious. I don't know if he's "blowing smoke..." as you put it or if it's just "comical" as the Colorado head coach said. How much does Coach T make, or how much does the average WNBA assistant make?

Do the Kings pay him as well? Maybe combined Monarch/Kings is enough...
That means he's still on the payroll as Assistant Monarchs Coach and also on the payroll of the Kings - right? What's his title and duties with The Kings? I hear him on the radio with Coz or the like so I suppose there's a nickel in there for him on those gigs. Ironically, I heard him laughing (r u serious?) one time wanting to know who was picking up the tab for pizza one night late.

He could be on the payroll for both teams. I hear him alot on the Kings radio show following games as well. Could be he likes his role with the teams.
As for his job title on the Kings....no idea.

The guy likes coaching basketball...period. He probably isn't chasing a job as he said. Similar to the discussions about Whiz, if he's so interested in doing something other than what he's doing now, he'd be gone right now because goodness knows there are/were enough open positions this past NCAA offseason that he could have gone and done his thing.

Its interesting....we have this big looooooooooooong discussion that Whiz wasn't "invested enough" in the WNBA because he's looked at offers for other positions. Now we see that Coach T say he makes good money and is content where he is working in the W (I heard him say the same thing last week on a Kings post game show) and it sparks another discussion. Color me confused.

He does get paid by MS&E for the work he does as a co-host on the the pre and post game shows, what that translates to financially? Dunno, and not sure it matters in the overall scheme of things because apparently its enough to keep the lights on and a roof over Abetamarco's head and that seems to be cool with him.

And just a few short months later he took the Utah job to be the lead assistant to Majeres

I hope he does go elsewhere. I've ENOUGH with his Kings postgame..... stuff.
