Lakers vs. Spurs

I guess that game wasn't worth mentioning, huh? Lakers win, 106-99 on Kobe's return after being out 1 game due to a sprained ankle. What can I say about the performance of the Lakers? In one word, "WOW!"

The Lakers are the salt in my wounds. And I have some deep cuts.

That should tell you enough about how the Lakers are performing. Meh.

I thought Jordan already taught him everything he had to know... now he is just implementing it.

Either that or Bill Walton is in the locker room so much that Kwame can't help but pick up some pointers.

Book it: Kwame is the greatest #1 pick of all time. Even better than LeBron and Coleman.

If anyone deserves credit for the lakers turnaround its Phil. This is basically the same team from last year and they are a lot better than last year. Great Job Phil

By the way, the kings have basically the same team as last year minus Bonzi. was he the difference from an up and coming team? to a team that a lot of you think needs to be blown up?

The role player dynamics are much different this year.

1 - Walton and Bynum are better by leaps.
2 - Farmar takes Vujacic's minutes (major bonus).
3 - Radman and Turiaf take Cook's minutes.
4 - Evans has replaced George.
5 - Kwame plays his natural position now that Mihm is out.

That's a lot of positive changes in only one offseason.

I really want to see bynum at the 5 and kwame at the 4, that would be interesting.
But overall the team is really good right now, the second round or maybe the conference champioship doesnt seem as too much of a stretch.

the lakers have played like every game at home... theyll start to slip... now im not saying that they aint a good team just that they arent as good as everyones making them out to be
lakers do look pretty good this year so far, but they have to do it over a season. most of those players have no video of them playing well, so nobody knows how to prepare for them. now the spurs have some footage. spurs will be ready next time. but it's not all about that. lakers played with more energy, they deserved the win.

A McNulla sighting. That game last March 10th was a thorough win by LA. Just sayin... :D (Yes, the Spurs were just coming off a tough mini-trip at the time.) I effin hate teams that go out and target an obnoxious number of three point shooters, btw. If they weren't such goodies, I would be able to detest them as much as I do the Suns.

If anything the Spurs deserve respect, best franchise in the nba imho. (it helps having duncan). But the suns specially Raja are detestable.

And your point is?

None of us have ever hidden our hatred for the Lakers. Why Lamar would act like it's a surpise amazes me. He may be slipping...
It's a feel good story. Everybody thought the Lakers would get trashed but they rose to the occasion. Jackson has never gotten credit for his coaching because he built a championship team. Kobe is hated because he is a beautiful basketball player. Kwame Brown given up on by everybody until the Lakers took a chance on him and that is paying off. It's a good basketball story and even fans who hate the Lakers the most with little objectivity could see that this team is working hard, and coming out against all odds.

On top of that, they punished the Rockets in Houston, another redeeming act since they have been blasted as a team who can't win on the road...

Silly Laker fan. ;)

It's only a feel-good story for you. Even fans who hate the Lakers can continue to hate them. We don't have to stand and applaud or hug each other because your team is working hard and coming out against all odds. (I can't even believe you typed that sentence...)

Sorry, but your team's success doesn't give me a warm, fuzzy feeling in any way whatsoever. Never has, never will. And that's the way it's supposed to be between the Kings and the Lakers. Or the Dodger and the Giants. Or the Rams and the 49ers. You know?

;)

^^^ L.A. disowned the Rams long before they moved to St. Louis.
I know...I was a season ticket holder.:) (Not a Rams fan...always a Vikes fan...I just liked to attend football games...and they were way cheaper, back in the day.)

Lol. I'm feelin it, Lamar, but those types of storylines engender the OPP feelings from small-market fans who hate the Lakers for the (deserved or undeserved) breaks they've gotten over multiple eras. For example, note that our praise posts include the names Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant while the Kings version would include the names Eric Musselman and Kevin Martin. You needn't go any further than that.
