heard something along the lines of Bonzi to Dallas for Dampier. don't quote me on that my source is an idiot. but it does make sense with Dallas wanting some Post play while Dirk romes the perimeter and Dampier giving us our front court defense but, buyer beware of Damps contract its over 8 mill this year and ends around 13 mil 2010/2011 season.

Petrie would have to be nuts...

ha ha ha... whew i just had a good laugh... man oh man ... we got to give Geoff P. some more credit ... Foster and Sarunas? wow that would not happen... ??? ... I serisouly hope not... Nene ... wow that could totally be the hold up... Denver is one of the few teams look'n hard at Bonzi... wow Nene ! ! ! I more worried im gonna get my hopes too high ....

Well hopefully we can get something nice in return at least.

I was all like "What now, another bonzi for who the hell" until I saw VF posted the thread. Damn.

I liked bonzi as a king a lot :(

What is the worst-case scenario? If Bonzi walks, the Kings end up with some lackluster free agent, but it could be worse. What is the worst possible scenario in your mind? I worry about a three team deal in which the Kings end up with Mark Madsen and Luke Walton.

If Bonzi just walked there's really no one else worth signing out there in free agency. So yeah, that's the worst case. Bonzi tying us up for half the summer and bolting when the last halfway decent free agents (Banks and Butler) were signed.

That's what's made me so angry. It's taken so long that a lot of agents had signed while we're caught on this situation, unable to move forward.

I admit I don't know for sure, but it seems that this whole thing has hindered any moves this summer due to the complete inactivity...

Doesn't make sense. I would rather Keep Bonzi for that kinda money instead of Dampier, or even let Bonzi go without getting that horrible contract back.

EVERYBODY, this might not be true. So lets hope it aint true until teh news say it is. I guess u can make predictions but so far Bonzi is a King. Well a free agent but a king pretty much.

if we get dampier, what does that mean for brad?
I think it will mean less minutes per game. Dampier only averaged 23 mpg last year. Playing Brad 28 mpg and Dampier 20 would be a pretty darn good center combo.

Obviously it could mean Brad would be on the move, but we'd still need a backup C.

As I said, take it for whatever you think it's worth.

:)
I hope that smiley is an indication that you've been given the impression that it isn't a totally doom and gloom situation. That something worthwhile will be the end result, like a reasonable S&T. Or something.............................

Don't forget that E Muss and Damp are very good friends so I could see this happening and hey as long as he is a big body and can block shots I'm okay with this but I would love to have Bonzi back

#45
Wouldn't mind Dampier, just his damn contract. Muss knows him, and is a good defensive big.

Would need to get another defensive big as well though, preferably a mobile one.

Oh man, I hope this involves Nene. I don't really want Dampier for Bonzi(I'd do Dampier for Kenny though...) and it would suck if we lost Bonzi for nothing while we missed out on Claxton, Banks, etc.

#47
Claxton had better situations elsewhere. Banks was pretty unrealistic by the last week or so. And didn't really need another small guard when we have Douby/Price.

If we don't get someone in a deal for Bonzi, there's jumaine jones, who is a damn solid player and can do a lot of things. I've wanted him for awhile. Then there's guys like Ariza and Laron Profit, who I wouldn't mind.

it probably means that while her sources are very good (and they are!) there is a possibility that things might not come to fruition a la the whole whisenant fiasco.

Agree on Jumaine Jones. Remember way back when Petrie tried to get him for Matteen Cleaves, only Cleaves failed his physical.

I'm sure Grant will have something to say on the radio. He loves provide his little inside info about the kings. so that'll be interesting to hear what he has to say about Bonzi

Interesting? Yes. Be be very wary of Grant and actually believing what he says..

On a side note, I was going to post this rumor this morning, but I heard from some guy at work... of course, my work has nothing to do with pro-sports, so I passed on the idea.
