i'd say that daniels didn't even touch wade, but if i said something about wade, i might be called for a foul (stolen from a simmons emailer)

But he did touch him. As Hubie said, however, it was a ticky-tack touch. Hubie's exact words were, "If you're gonna foul him, hit him hard. Don't ticky-tick him."

and the game is tied...

Ironically, I actually think the officiating on Wade has been worse this game than last. Last game there were maybe 2 calls which seemed missed, but with that last one on Daniels, I think there may have been three gift fouls on Wade in the first half.

Call on Stack or Howard at the end of the first quarter where Wade fell down but did not appear to be touched unless it was down at foot level. Call on Harris a few minutes later along the baseline when Wade charged into his chest. And then this ticky tack thing against Daniels, although he might have ticked him on the elbow. Could not tell.

Miami is STILL driving inside, daring the Mavericks to stop them. And the Mavericks are putting the Heat at the line time and time again. Stackhouse with his third foul.

If the Heat could improve their FT shooting, this game would be a lot different IMO.

the phantom foul call tally for wade stands at 3. But there is still a whole half to go.

Dirk got a similar call when Haslem was in front of him defensively, but wound up picking up the blocking foul.

I don't know. You're probably right about the officiating being a little lousy, but as long as they don't call stuff like this in game-changing situations down the stretch I don't think it'll be a huge deal.

Also, a jumpshooting team STILL isn't getting any calls! REF CONSPIRACY

I am certainly not arguing for conspiracy -- conspiracy theories are lazy at best. Just because you miss a call doesn't mean there David Stern is flying over in his black helicoptor repalcing refs with alien lookalikes. Just noting that there were three calls there I disagreed with.

That was actually a reference to people that were complaining about how many freethrows Miami's been receiving, actually. It's no surprise that a jumpshooting team receives fewer freethrows; I just think it's funny how some people think is an indication of some horrible plot or something.

You're a levelheaded person, so that wasn't a shot at you. C'mon now :p
