[Game] 61/82: Kings @ Nuggets, 05 MAR 2025, 6:00p PT/9:00p ET

Kings had controlled the entire game but then lost 5 Non-Jokic minutes 12-3 to start the 4th. Even with the refs up to the usual. That was the game right there. You probably haven’t earned a win @Denver if you aren’t competitive in No Jokic minutes in the 4th quarter.

2 big things at the end. When Derozan got stripped (fouled) that would have given us a 2 possession lead that might have changed the outcome. And then Jonas missed an easy turn around. We looked gassed too which makes sense.

the good news is this brand of basketball we are playing wins more than it loses. Just do that every damn night. It’s a must
This is the tough part though, long term are the Kings getting this kind of defense with their normal starters? JV especially has been huge as a space taker. Time will tell.

i think everyone looks more engaged after that Golden state game. We now have 4 guys in the rotation that can give us plus defense and I think Lavine has been pretty good during this stretch

Doesn’t help when Westbrook a 32 percent low volume shooter goes off.

The KINGS led by double digits for much of the game. They led by 9 to start Q4.

Then ref mode was activated. Anybody surprised?

The KINGS scored more FG’s than Denver and converted only one fewer 3pt FG.

The difference was clearly the amount of fouls whistled and the number of FTA’s.

Denver shot over twice as many and outscored the KINGS by 13 at the line.

There’s your prime example how games are “orchestrated”, or at the very least heavily influenced by inept and inconsistent officiating.

The KINGS were the more aggressive team tonight and the consensus for decades has been that the more aggressive team tends to receive the benefit of the doubt and get to the line more. But not tonight, apparently. SMH.

It’s one thing for the KINGS to do themselves in. I don’t like when that happens, but can accept and deal with it. But when they appear to be the better team on a given night yet don’t get the ‘W’ due to factors outside their control — I don’t accept and deal with it so well.
