To me It starts and ends with roster construction.
Option 1- Deebo
Option 2- Sabonis
Option 3 Lavine
Option 4 Monk
Option 5 Keegan
no offensive sets or play calls is going to change the fact that he is the 5th guy scoring wise.
He can be a 15-19 point a game guy in this league, maybe more if things really came together but I don’t anticipate that happening in the next couple years. If a Lavine or Deebo is traded I could see his role changing significantly but until then fans should expect 10-15 points most nights with rebounding and defense. Hes essentially playing the Aaron Gordon role for the team. And actually he is a good example, a number one or two option with Orlando to a number 4 or 5 on Denver.
I think one (or maybe even both) will get traded. Both have contracts that end in 27 (unless extended). Deebo's contract is very reasonable for a player of his production, and should be tradeable if we so choose.
With our pick likely conveying to Atlanta, and us potentially losing LaRavia, trade will be our best bet to upgrade/balance out the roster. Monte has always gone the route of acquiring the best talent he could, and try to balance out the roster. Given the need to find minutes for Keon/Carter, shots for Keegan, and more help on the wings, trading one of these guys makes most sense. I think Deebo will garner interest around the league. Someone had posted about Mavs potentially being interested in him, and that makes ample sense to me. Let's see.
