Fox really is in no position to be saying anything negative about Sacramento, not its fans, the organization, or his teammates. I don’t even live there, have never even visited once, but the team did right by him in every scenario. We gave him a supporting cast that pushed the previous champs to 7 games, got one of his best friends on the team, traded Hali for Domas (2 wins right there for Fox), the fans adored him and rooted for him through thick and thin. And even after all that he did recently, admitting to texting Spurs players about a trade before it was even finalized, having a preferred destination but denying wanting out, and a slew of other things, we still gave him his wish and sent him to the Spurs. We didn’t need to do that, but we did.
If there should be any thoughts or emotions coming out of Fox, it should be of gratitude and appreciation. If he didn’t believe in the direction of the team, it’s because he couldn’t steer us in the right direction, as the so called leader of the team. Don’t blame your old teammates for your own failures. You quit on them. You failed them.
I absolutely hate players that do this, take cheap shots at teammates, the organization, and fans and pretend they weren’t to blame for at least a portion of it. I hope Fox gets traded from the Spurs to the Washington Wizards for 50 cents on the dollar. What a loser. Good riddance
