So Ordinary That It's Truly Quite Extraordinary

Weird thing is that Phoenix doesn't seem to have any firsts to trade.

It would actually be possible for us to take in Jonas on the MLE, and then for Phoenix to salary dump Nurkic to the Wiz if the Wiz send out a min contract (i.e. Gill) either way. The tough part is for Phoenix to come up with the draft capital to make that worthwhile.
I don't think Phoenix would be interested in helping us get him though? If there is any fire to this smoke Monte needs to jump in front of the line. We can take him for free why would WAS want Nurk? He makes double the salary and still has another year on the contract if they just want off Jonas they can do it free.

Carter is a pg by title alone doesn’t look like he possesses any pg skills
In the end, if you run pick and roll you are a essentially a modern PG. He'll likely be more of a combo which is was most G's are these days. See how he develops. In college he was by the numbers the best pick and roll guard last season IIRC. Or one of them. He's definitely more of an initiate and play within the offense type though. Per minute he's doing what he did in college across the board although the efficiency on shots is obviously down because he's in that danger zone of shooting 3-4 times a game most nights. Make 1 you suck, make 2 you're a god. Huerter was in that same danger zone this season. Carters lack coming in always looked to be being a little clanky around the rim. That's an ability young players can develop so it's not a huge hinderance. Per 36 he's 5th on the team in APG as it is among players that have played over 100 minutes. Behind Fox, Domas, Malik, and McLaughlin. The question moving forward as Carter gets an offseason to actually you know, work out, and a preseason to you know, practice, is if he gets minutes does most of that productivity carry over? Time will tell, and there is time.

I mean, I think he's better suited as a combo guard/secondary playmaker, but Christie stopped playing him. He's only been above 8 minutes in 4 of his last 8 games. In 3 of those games, he literally got 1 3 minute rotation.

His G-League games and his first 5 games I thought were very good and very promising moving forward. But you're not going to get an accurate read on Carter with such inconsistent playing time.

Deebo is going nowhere lol
He’s not untouchable but for Jonas/Kuza smh no

If the Bucks are really after Kuzma, they can flip either Jonas or Portis to us via our MLE and drop below the second apron and save a bunch of tax money.
Hornets first for Portis is a good deal and we could still use the TPE for Cody Martin

Speculation

We need to make another move or two.
We have cap, exemptions, and open roster spots.

Bamba cleared waivers; he would help.

I agree we need ball handling. Monk is great in half court offense but under pressure . . .

Love Ellis to death but also would trust him to run the point. He dictates passes.

I mean he has the size but he isn’t really good at anything. Kinda like the Okpala signing.
Eh, that's not true. KJ's been pretty productive his entire career and is a solid role player. KZ never caught on anywhere.

Who else has a TPE? Pretty interesting that's the rumor, means we could be in on that. He'd be a great fit for what we need.

He's okay. Athletic defender / slasher.
But I wouldve used the TPE on JV.

Or i wouldve done a JV + Saddiq Bey for CHA protected (2 x 2nd rounds) and fillers (A.Len)

That would have killed 2 birds in one stone type deal

Bey isn't playing this year, I believe. He tore is ACL last year?

Also, we should probably make sure we actually traded for KJ first, before talking about what we should have done lol
