Too bad Monk had to play 41 minutes tonight. He basically just went out for short periods to get his wind back. And then he makes the game-saving defensive play at the end, not to mention four straight free throws in the last minute.

With LaVine incoming, his minutes, perhaps everyone's minutes, will go down.

In an ideal world, go get Jval:

Monk 34
LaVine 34
Keegan 34
DDR 34
Domas 34

That leaves 70 minutes to divy up on the bench.

28 to Keon
18 to Lyles
14 goes to Jval
10 to Carter

Obviously, you won't have perfectly 34 minutes a night for everyone game in and game out. But there's got to be some semblance of structure and consistency here with the rotation. And you can still be very starter heavy while keeping a consistent bench rotation in and out. 32 games left in the season, if you shave 3-4 MPG off all the starters the rest of the way, you're saving about 128 minutes a piece to hopefully be a little fresher come playoff time. Or at least not to be totally burnt come the last 10 games of the season when we're fighting for playoff position. I think that matters.

I don’t want to overreact but I am worried. Not sure how he can ever consistently get his shot off to be more than a solid role player. I hope I’m wrong. I love his effort and motor be he throws a ton of junk up there.
I somewhat get it, but we have to remember his context here. He's a play for the start of next season. Guy hadn't played organized ball for 9 months, missed the off-season, missed Summer League, missed training camp, missed Preseason. Oh and his HC got fired and the star player got traded.

I don't know if you got a chance to watch his G-League games, but you saw the juice in those performances. He's just not in the rotation right now and it's hard to find any rhythm in like 3-6 MPG.

There will be an adjustment. He's in a very tough situation and the same one Keon was in his first two years. One mistake and it's an immediate yank. The good news is even if he ends up a role guy, he's doing role guy things. The offense will come, 89th percentile guys in pick and roll in college tend to figure it out at some point. You have to take the whole picture in once the season is over. In Boston we saw the potential. Christie is desperately trying to win and he like any coach with a potential job on the line is going to trust his vets. Carter is also not getting a very kind whistle. He's paying his dues with the refs.

Kind of wish they didn't play Fox at all after the whole nonsense came out.Might have won Philly game
I'm just glad it ended swiftly. We were hosed either way. Playing him hurt the team. Not playing him would have killed any leverage we had (which turned out to be none). Just glad its over and we got a solid win tonight heading into some winnable games.

Without Sabonis, Kings lose that game. Without Fox......any questions?

This is Sabonis's team.
He is probably a perfect guy to take on leadership duties considering how much he sacrifices his body every night. Teammates gotta love playing with him.It definitely seems like they are very close with Debo from some of the interactions during games
