Amick: De’Aaron Fox requests trade

I doubt the Heat offer up Ware but if they do you take it and run especially if there is an unprotected 1st. Tell SA to kick rocks and going ahead and wait 1.5 years to maybe sign Fox.
Ware is a better prospect than Castle and he has already shown that he can contribute at a high level.

Added bonus, it sends Fox out East.

I´ve had a belly full of San Antonio. Five championships since 1999 and always gifted generational Centers to build around. Kind of hard not to be considered the NBA model of franchise stability.
Meanwhile the ongoing narrative that the Kings organisation is considered a joke and why would a player like Fox want to resign for another run of mediocrity.
I hope it’s the last place Fox goes especially considering what they aren’t willing to offer.

Getting zion would be a dream for this franchise. Zion is a bonfied freak. There is absolutely no way kings pull this off no matter how much I want it.

Zions star power alone is enough to for a team to keep him. Fox isn't even the best jersey seller on his own team
Just out of curiosity what jersey sells the best on the kings? I’m guessing it would be Sabonis?? Or are the Maloofs still selling Jimmer jerseys??

I’m not convinced that a Monk Sabonis pick and roll can’t be that go to solution. I heard an interesting point on the Simmons show that Fox and Sabonis struggle a bit because both are primarily left handed. They were saying it in terms of Fox and Wemby but it would also be true of Monk and Sabonis. That may be partly why Monk can make some passes to Domas that Fox doesn’t make
The Monk-Sabonis pick and roll is, of course, a deadly weapon in the Kings' offensive arsenal. But when I say a "go to" option, I mean somebody you can hand the ball in the fourth quarter and let them go to work when the defense is taking away every other option, closing out tightly on your open shooters, and blowing up your P&R's. Fox and DeRozan are both that guy. DeRozan won't be for much longer, and Fox doesn't appear long for this team, so the Kings will need to find a replacement for the pressure a player like that can create. You're just not going far in the playoffs without it. You might not even be able to make it to the playoffs in the west without it.

I know Kings fans can sometimes get a little sanguine about terms like "team-first basketball", "pure PG", etc., but success in the NBA almost always comes on the backs of star talents with go-to capability, who can bend the defense to their will when their team needs them to do so. I'm guessing that's the reason Monte McNair believed in Fox in the first place, and it's a shame that Fox couldn't fully deliver on that promise. So now it seems as if it's time to pivot. It's unlikely that the Kings will get a "replacement" for Fox's go-to ability in any Fox trade, so Monte's got work to do in the months to come to figure out how to bring that back to Sacramento. DDR is a solid temporary solution, as long as he doesn't request a trade of his own, of course.

We don't know that Monte isn't doing anything, and we don't deserve to know what's going on behind the scenes.
I get that we're all frustrated and want a resolution, but the reality is that we likely won't have anything before the deadline.
I think we’ll resolve it Tuesday so we have time for an added deal or two. Also to avoid Fox having to be at G1C.

Blows away anything the Spurs are offering but could use one more pick or two second rounders.
Yeah, ideally that package would come with one more first rounder, but toss in a couple of seconds and that deal probably works for me as a realistic package for Fox that extracts pretty close to maximum value without a commitment from Fox to re-sign with the Heat. I like Jaquez Jr. a lot, Ware is going to be a stud, and that 2030 pick is just a good bit of insurance whether the Kings are rebuilding by then or not.

I updated slightly. BTW I’m sure Fox has no problem re-signing with Miami unless Recee makes all his decisions and this is all about her going to her hometown. I doubt that is the case.

Hopefully so, but this might be the "kicking tires" phase unfortunately. That had to start this deadline, but with the way this blew up and got exposed by some butthurt folks it's put a ton of pressure on this to get done. Recent history suggests just getting a deal done with parameters like this being set is the only option. Players that have a destination in mind get it, welcome to the NBA.
