So Ordinary That It's Truly Quite Extraordinary

I enjoyed seeing Fox play. I don't have any interest in flaming him on his way out the door. He wanted to be in Sacramento through some awful seaons and now he wants to play somewhere else for a better chance to contend. I don't like it, but I get it.
I enjoyed him too but his shortcomings are real or Brown would be our coach right now.

Yes the money sucks and he hasn’t looked good his time in Phx, but here he woukd have the ball in his hands and be playing off Domas. I still think he’s an all star caliber player with the right role.
But is it all worth handcuffing our ability to work with the roster around him? I am not saying that it's an absolute MUST, but having significant financial flexibility in the post-Fox era of Sacramento Kings basketball might actually be more beneficial than seeing the Beal-era of Sacramento Kings basketball.

I wonder if there are some hard feelings from Vivek about that. Was it Fox's father in law that chimed in about helping get Brown "the bag"? Vivek made that move for Fox only watch Fox still want out. Yeah, time to start moving into the Devin Carter era. If they do it's going to be a fun ride.

I agree with you, it all depends on what Sacramento would be getting as compensation for taking on that contract? If the above deal of 4 1sts (3 from SA and 1 from Phx) is true that’s a little iffy. Is that Phoenix pick in the immediate future or down the line when KD is gone? Is Keldon Johnson the only rotation player coming back because I think that’s short a piece.

If those picks are legit it might be worth the hit. If Beal goes back to being a top option the stats will follow so the Kings basically get the same production going out in the Fox trade at least.

Sure. If they weren't we'd be getting a much bigger return. That or he wouldn't have a reason to leave because he'd be capable of being "that guy" for this team. I think De'Aaron is self aware enough to know that he can't be the best player on a contender. That's why he's looking to be Wemby's wingman for the next five years or so.

Yeah Beal the player is still pretty good. He'd be a key component of every single team and rotation. It's the contract that makes him the most toxic asset in basketball.

If beals coming our way, we better be getting an OKC level of FRPs to compensate us taking him AND trading Fox

De’Aaron getting talked about with the reverence usually reserved for Kobe and Cleveland LeBron lol
Seriously. Fox didn’t save us from anything. If the Kings follow DeMarcus up with a Keegan level player, he also makes the playoffs at least once.

I appreciate Fox. He was a good player for us. I have him below DeMarcus on my rankings.

Yeah, I have no issues with Beal the player. That contract, though...

Demarcus is twice the player Fox is and he for sure didn’t have to get made to bring tit to people
