I'm not hung up on getting Castle. But it sure sounds like a mult-team deal where picks are parted out for "win-now" guys.

That smacks very heavily of treadmilling. . .
It seems several on this board have come to a consensus that fair value was going to look something like Castle + Sochan + salary + 3 picks (2 ATL + ??). I'd say that Sochan is worth a pick and Castle is worth two, so if the Spurs are going to hold out on Castle then the necessary bounty is up to 5 picks and counting...

This is such a stupid f***ing genre of online commentary: invent a scenario that retains the veneer of plausibility yet is still not supported by fact, then use it as a pretext to get prematurely critical of the target of the commenter's ire.
People should just endlessly tweet the Luka songs at him. Such a clown.

Also, if we have to take on 4.5 years of the Vassell contract, that's two picks.

Which makes us a dumb franchise why take a crap offer trade him elsewhere jesus stop letting them tell you what to do
You really think a team is going to give the farm for a rental? Nope. This is how the league works now, Monte has to deal with it and move on. Just be glad that this is about 6 months early and not 6 months late.

I’m guessing that’s too steep. We are all pretty biased but I’d say the Mitchell deal is the one to look at. At the time Donovan was considered the better player with more playoff performances under his belt and two years younger. We should probably expect something below that return.

I have a feeling that Spurs will just move on to another target.

Can we be real, is Fox the best running mate for Wemby?
Just my opinion, but I think he would fit as a fantastic fit next to Wemby. Wemby can spread the floor for him via his 3-point shooting and then help Fox on defense when he takes nights off on D. Wemby is the #1 and Fox is the #2, which is where he should be and where he feels most comfortable.

If this is a deal where we start immediately reading other teams tweeting “that’s what they got Fox for? THATS IT? Why didn’t our team put in an offer cause we definitely could have offered more!” Walk away. I hope we have the sense to just WALK AWAY so we are not the laughing stock of the rest of the league, again.
Exactly! If the deal sucks you could literally get the same deal next year as a rental grow a pair of balls

I really think the value will end up being Sochan, Vassel, and 4 picks (2025 Spurs, the Hawks picks, and the Bulls pick) and we flip the Bulls pick to Utah along with Huerter and Lyles for Collins.

At the same time if stars are going to lineup to play with him, is he the best they can get?
I'm somewhat playing devil's advocate but also saying if the Fox shortcomings that he isn't even worth Castle and good picks are true, then is he the one that they should give a 60mil per contract to?

Which pretty much aligns with my thought process.

Good point. I don't know the star guards that are available or that will be available in the next year, so I can't answer the question.

I don't think I'd be mad about that.

At this point I'm hoping we trade him somewhere else because **** Fox, **** SA, and **** Klutch, but whatever.

Worst case Fox DOESN'T get traded and sullens up our chance at the playoffs.

I don't see it. Mainly because of the money involved. Vassel is getting paid and Sochan is about to. The last thing you want to do if you're Monte is tie up possibly 50 million per year on players just for value sake. After next season you might be looking at 70-80 million just between those two and Keegan.

Keldon Johnson/Zach Collins/3-4 picks for Fox would be a great deal if the Spurs were willing.

If we get Sochan aren't we better off with a Cam/Sharpe deal?
I think of Sochan as a 4/3 and Collins as more of a 4/5, so I think there is room for both, but maybe you want the Cam scoring if you have Sochan, Keon, Keegan, and Carter already in the 9 man rotation. You could do the same trade, but with Cam instead of Collins, but I suspect more of the draft consideration would go to Brooklyn (probably one of the Hawk picks or Spurs pick instead of the Bulls pick).
