[Game] 44/82: Kings at Nuggets 23 JAN 2025, 6pm PT/9pm ET

You don't think they're managing Huerter's contract?
I don't know, we've been thinking that for how long? 2 years plus? haha. I don't trust anything at this point. Huerter isn't a terrible player, he's in a terrible position but ***** footing around his long term role with the team is hurting potential progress. It reminds me of the years of John Salmons and the waning days of Artest. Like, why are they gobbling up all those minutes and carrying you when you know they're good as gone.

I can tell you, the difference in oxygen is real. After living here, training here, it's noticeable for at least 48 hours.
The bonus is when you head down to sea level, the first 24 hours are like someone caffeinated everything you ate and drank. I ran sub 7 minute miles in California after running about 9 minutes in Colorado. It's real.
Knowing that, the strategy is to rotate your players as much as possible. Regular substitution patterns don't work up here.

Well so far Christie has said F that. Domas on pace to play 42 tonight. The only change was that he brought in Keon and Carter together instead of Huerter and Keon.

Your talking to Doug Christie he went 110% as a player. I doubt he is going to baby his players. I wouldn't
Nugs are 11-3 in their last 14, we’re on the road 9 of next 11 games and don’t have an extended home stand until March. Huge difference between “babying” and needlessly running guys ragged to prove a point. But I def am curious to see how DC handles second half rotations

They're in a tough spot with him, because if he were to get lost on the bench with no playing time, they could be stuck with a 17 million dollar net zero player for another season after this one. In other words, they've been trying to trade him, but haven't been able to

All the starters played heavy minutes last night at essentially sea level. Now they’re playing at elevation against a team that didn’t play yesterday and rested all its players in the second half of their last game because the Sixers suck again.
More than that, I watched the second half of last night's game and the pace was frenetic. The Kings spent a huge amount of energy coming from 18 down, only the see Golden State take the lead two or three times again in the fourth quarter alone. It was an exhausting game followed by a flight in the middle of the night.

The shots are falling short and they are even missing free throws.

I don't think playing him short minutes is working. He has big games once in awhile but scorers like him more often than not just look worse.
