Suddenly, my childhood comes rushing back.
When I was 10, my family took a cross-country trip from SoCal to D.C. and back - with literally two 8-track tapes in the car - Glen Campbell's Greatest Hits and The Carpenters Singles: 1969-1973. Let's just say that by the time we got to Phoenix I had heard By The Time I Get To Phoenix so many times that I was ecstatic to listen to the Carpenters for the entire rest of the trip.

In college I was driving from Harrisburg, PA to NorCal with my college roommate. I had a crate full of CDs in my car but we had wildly different musical tastes. The only CD we really agreed on was Melissa Etheridge's "Yes I Am" - I think we listened to that at least halfway across the country. I didn't listen to that CD again for something like a decade after that trip, but it is a great album. I actually got to see her in concert for the first time late last year and she puts on a great show (in addition to being fantastic musically). We're going to see her again in August (she's playing with the Indigo Girls, one of my wife's favorite groups) at Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys.

You do realize that some of the people reading this are going to have to look up what an eight track is, right?

James, Haliburton and Cunningham is throwing out names????

James: really throwing random names
Haliburton: All Star last year. 3rd team all NBA
Cunningham: 1st overall pick, has been named an all star by every writer ( who votes all NBA)

it’s absurd I missed them in my original post.
JFC bro, I've already accounted for James. You know my whole original assumption was based on people who won last year who are now DQ'd, of which you mentioned at least 3 already DQ'd people in the last post. Haliburton, it is almost universally said, has been having a terrible year compared to last year.

But enough, I've given you this win. I did 3 posts ago. The whole original post was my frustration that he'll almost be handed the recognition because of the guys who are DQ'd and I DON'T WANT THAT. I DO NOT THINK HE IS A SUPER MAX PLAYER.

haha. Pretty funny. Forgive me for calling you a liar. lol. Okay sure
I'm not calling you a liar. I would never do that, I have no basis on which to say that what you're saying isn't true.

I AM saying that based on what you have presented, I have no reason to believe that what you're saying IS true.

There's a difference between the two statements. Hopefully you will see that distinction.

keep in mind I looked at it in depth BECAUSE I RESPECT YOUR OPINION.

it was a much an exercise for me to see what probability I thought Fox being eligible for the SuperMax might have as it was to “convince” you. I had forgotten to account for James! You are absolutely correct if he does become eligible it changes everything. I’m not here looking for wins but I am here to discuss the best path forward for the Kings and you dead on right to point out it’s a major factor to consider.

after some research and our discussion I think if the Kings stay 7 or lower it’s not a high probability. But if the Kings get up to 4 or so then it could well happen.

It's my belief that once you get away from the obvious top 10 guys in the league reporters will start to consider things like "I don't want to be the vote that costs this dude his bag", and I also don't think anyone outside of the top 3 teams in the East will get major consideration. The best player on the 8 or 9 seed in the West is still going to be regarded higher than the best player on the East 5 seed. I am sure of that.

But again that's just me looking at the last ~5 years and also noticing the amount of guys who drop off permanently after ~32 or so. And coincidentally once you've got 10 years of service awards no longer matter for getting a juicy contract.

sure your point is fair but really who on this list in your mind is not a lock? That leaves a lot of guys from top 6 teams in the west competing for only 2 spots….. if you aren’t top 6 you have no chance to snag one.

Tatum, James, Giannis, Jokic, Davis, Mobley, Durant, Wemby,

Mitchell, SGA, Ant, Brunson, Brown

Brown is not a lock, they’ve cut him before. Last year even. I don’t know why but NBA media does not like him (Celtics are my second favorite team from my time in Boston so I have never got it, he gets all the blame when they don’t win it all).

And I do suspect one or two of those guys wind up missing time and becoming ineligible. And if Mobley and Davis are both in then I suspect voters that would give to Domas switch to Fox. And this is me thinking we wind up in the 5-7 range.

My locks would be: Tatum, Giannis, SGA, Mitchell, Joker, Ant, Davis, Towns.

the maybes are Sabonis, Brown, Mobley or Garland, The Beard, Jalen Williams, Steph, LeBron, Fox, Dame, Ball, Brunson, Booker, Durant, Maxey, JJJ and Wemby

A few of those maybes can only miss 5-8 more games.

If the decision was made today I don’t think he gets in but Sabonis does. That could change pretty dramatically by the end of the season.

Brown was finals MVP last year. I would put money on he makes it this year. Hmm wonder if I can???? Nope checked DraftKings no luck. lol

If the Celtics finish behind NYK and Cavs I think there’s a good chance they only get one player.

I don’t think any team outside of the Cavs if they win 70 gets 3. And they probably still get two.

want to take the other side of a charity bet on Wemby, Brown and Durant and Brunson???
