Good post. Been trying to really think through what's going wrong this season and while everyone wants to point to whoever their least favorite aspect of this org is (take your pick), I think we're just seeing a death by a thousand cuts sort of scenario play out. Little mistakes here and there, Huerter and Keegan not shooting as they should, injuries stacking up this year, weird rotation decisions, not playing Keon at the right times, defensive miscues, etc. All these seemingly minor aspects just add up into the crap-storm we've gotten this year.
A big problem with the clutch sports approach is it poisons the fans against the player. It also poisons the player. Once you‘ve got people whispering in your ears that you deserve better from the organization, it becomes that much easier to give up when the going gets tough. Feels Like both things have now happened with DeAaron and the fanbase.

Where "the mod" is going is you and @PorchSurfin have simultaneously presented the conflicting positions that:
  1. Trae Young would be better for the Sacramento Kings than De'Aaron Fox, and
  2. The Kings should get the Hawks to give them Trae Young and a pick (your words) for Fox.
I am trying to reconcile those two statements.
You can be a better fit, yet still be the lessor player sir. Happends all the time.

Compounded by the fact that Fox is inefficient and doesn't make his team better, while at the same time advocating for this same team.

It's ironic Fox is represented by Klutch sports because he is acting the EXACT SAME AS LEBRON. Blaming everyone around him for the lack of success instead of taking ownership (sound familiar?).

Having his agent Rich Paul meet with the team to find out how they are going to make the team better for him after advocating to bring damn near the whole team in himself (Lebron and Klutch again).

Fox needs to go. He is swept up in the whole Rich Paul/Klutch Sports way of doing business, and the longer the Kings entertain it, the worst off we will be.

This team was made for DeAaron, and he is half assing crap yet expecting the team to do more (the Klutch Sports playbook). Ship his ass out and let someone else deal with him and Rich Paul.
I don't agree with all the Fox witch-hunt type rhetoric being tossed around right now, but I do agree he's probably one of the only moves we have to make true organizational change. The little "Huerter for DFS" sort of trades just aren't going to matter with the deep-rooted problems this team has right now. It's that, or you fire Brown, fire Monte and look for the next GM/Coach tandem that thinks they can salvage this core.

Shame. Fox is a damn good player and has been loyal to Sacramento his entire career. One of the most fun players I've gotten to watch as a fan. And it's looking more and more the relationship is going to end on a sour note.

So Ordinary That It's Truly Quite Extraordinary

Well even if we can't get a haul of young talent we could get a wing or something that might balance our roster better than a trick shot specialist who doesn't play defense. I'd rather trade for Dyson Daniels (no that's not a trade proposal).

Rather than trading like for like when we are overloaded with guards let's try to get something we don't have.

Yeah. In short, a big distraction. Not fair to the fans, the players, and the coaches

I mentioned a pick sir. But some also thought that was outlandish. So I'll ask you, is tre the better player?
No, he isn't. Which is why I don't know why we'd trade Fox for another win-now player, at the same position we're already loaded at, for a player who's not as good. Doesn't help Trae is legitimately one of the worst defenders in the NBA in an NBA rotation over the last 7 years.

When you ship Fox, it's because you're jump-starting a rebuild. It's getting back a boat-load of picks and a young player or 2.

That's not what he said; he said Young and a pick.
Well it's not what I said. But I'm not the GM so I don't know how that conversation would go.

But I would have started that conversation about a week ago when I (YES ME) first brought it up. Trae Young would be perfect for this current team, if Brown had the nutsack to start Keon next to Young and bring Monk and Heurter off the bench.

But at the end of the day, I think Brown is being held hostage by Fox/Klutch in who to play/how much.

Just one more obvious issue LeBron and his whole drama queen business has negatively impacted sports.

Hope you aren't a fan, Slim. I aint.

Our aweful losing streak, coinciding with the clutch news/discussion with monte and deaaron’s comments on Green’s podcast have all coincided to seemingly destroy this relationship in the matter of a couple weeks. Maybe I was just naive when I brushed away fox not extending over the summer. Maybe this has been building since the team stalled out last year.

Get over it. Guy is asking to be payed like a max allstar and can't take a jab or step up to leadership? Cry me a river. If anything he should be saying these things about himself so brown doesn't have to. Feel like he's the one throwing brown under the bus by staying quiet all the dam time
Nah, some of these are passive aggressive potshots and sorry, players have different mental makeups. Brown is a players coach so he can survive in most of his destinations for a few years but now he's starting to open his own mouth too much about certain things fans have been questioning. Like Keons usage. While overblown since Keon is obviously not going to take this team from pretender to contender but Brown honestly thought the offense bogging down was the main issue tonight. Woof. Did it? Yeah, but I'm pretty sure getting stomped was the real issue. Come playoff time if they make it, they won't be making it that far with that type of coaching prowess.

And the agent/agency laughs all the way to the bank while everything shoulders in their rear view mirror. Disappointed that Fox doesn't see this.

But he's not being loyal to Sacramento RIGHT NOW. Why is that so hard for people to see? He wants out and has been dann near saying it without saying it for 2 years!!!

This is where we somewhat agree. I also don't want a pg back, I'd rather grab a wing. But what I'm saying is we can do much worse than grabbing tre. And if we did, I wouldn't exactly be upset. I don't want to rebuild. I'm sick of it. But fox is toast here

Wtf? I quit watching the game sometime in the 4th when it looked like it was going to be a win... wow.

Maybe people here are finally starting to see this fraud of a team for what it really is? The Kings have had an easy schedule and can't beat anyone with a pulse. These players don't care from top to bottom. I already checked out 10 games ago, I don't know why anyone would stick around to watch this clown show.

Just watched the last play again. For some unknown reason, Fox was sagging off his man in the corner, when the only thing they couldn't give up was a 3. Instead, he has to rush out there for a contest, leaps in the air and comes down with both hands on the guy....and gives up a 4 pt play.

WTF? Just completely boneheaded. Especially after the coaches just told everyone to stay attached to the 3pt line
