Some of the shot selection tonight was beyond brutal. And length is definitely a big deal - seeing Lyles and Jones miss point blank shots at the rim, looking like little guys … that hurt. There was a possession in the 3rd quarter where they had like 4 chances to score and came away with nothing.

Hmmm….didn’t watch the game. Checked the score a couple times, but didn’t care to watch the game at this point.

I tell you, maybe it’s a midlife crisis on my part, but fandom changes as you age. I don’t feel the need to sit through this pain to try to justify my fandom. Life is good folks, try to enjoy Christmas and/or whatever other holiday that brings you joy.

I mean it’s self inflicted. Foul on a turn around fade away jumper with 2 seconds left. Cant get the rebound on 2 missed free throws and we missed several 3s to close the gap.

I don’t feel as bad about this one as others, enough other things to think about.
Been the story of the season. I can't help but think "The Kings played really good basketball for 40 minutes tonight...and played like a JV high school team the other 8". They consistently aren't making the plays to secure wins with clean basketball.

I don't know. I find this season wholly unenjoyable so far. This was supposed to be the year of a big pay-off from us "learning" how to win and be a successful franchise over the last 2 years. And we've just gone backwards.

I'm totally willing to concede that I may just be being browbeaten into the media narrative. The other night when Fox picked up his fifth foul in a tie game I decided I should just go get dinner.

When I got home the whole Kings universe was apoplectic and then I've seen 48 hours of Fox is gone commentary. He's probably moved into top 3 Sac Kings status for me so this is all very hard to process. And tbh there's a lot of folks I follow elsewhere that I am tuning out/muting but I can't exactly do that here.

I don't know. I'd like to see us fix this with a couple rotation moves it is feeling like that may not be enough.
The key is to stay off the internet lol

media guys get way more engagement off of panic posts and wild trade ideas than anything else so it just all compounds on itself at once haha

I said it before and I'll keep saying it. Extending Brown was an unnecessary move. This season should have been a prove it year, in the last season of the initial contract he agreed to
Maybe, but Brown rolls the ball out and lets his stars go to work. At some point, it's on them, rotations and overthinking aside. This was another game where it almost was riding on Huerter hitting a big 3 and as soon as he missed Brown was pissed. I'm sure he also saw freaking D'lo guarding DDR in the post. That's an auto bucket if you aren't dumb, lol.

He already ****ing proved it when he won coach of the year and lead the Kings to 2 of their most successful seasons in franchise history.

Show me one example of a team in Brown's circumstance where they let him go into a season with a lame-duck contract. I'll wait.

Also, who cares? It's vivek's money, and coach salaries aren't tied up with the salary cap. I'd rather him take of a coach who's been successful with our franchise so it shows the Kings can be a competent organization. Rather than **** around with the ONLY successful coach this team has seen since Rick Adelman. This take is so unbelievably short-sighted.

Just never made sense to me, going into a pivotal season for the franchise

And then we would be blaming the start on more instability from the franchise. And maybe Deebo doesn’t sign because the organization doesn’t commit.

Not extending of him would be of no help to this season or future seasons. If Vivek wants him gone, he will gone.

If that's true, then great. But I suspect that it would tend to influence decisions going forward......and it's his money, not ours. So feel free to throw it around

Well, the only cards Brown on his own has left to play outside of waiting for this team to play better

These aren’t my preferences but’s it’s either swapping Monk for Keon in the starting lineup, or moving DeMar to the bench.

Moving Keon to the starting lineup would be a different look that could possibly yield good results. He’s also been our most consistent catch and shoot three point shooter as well as well as a reliable defender.

To be clear, I don’t think DeRozan deserves to be moved to the bench. He’s mostly been as advertised but Kings are a mess and that idea is purely in search of a fluidity(and offensive bench boost) that eludes the Kings.

I have no idea who would be an ideal fit in the starting lineup in that scenario. McBuckets doesn’t seem like a serious idea and would likely be viewed as a slap in the face. Huerter certainly hasn’t earned his way back in the starting lineup.

But I’m pretty sure Brown finally deciding to let Monk start was what he considered his break glass button. He is probably right.

The massive offensive underperformance from Keegan and Huerter and the overall team 3 pt shooting completely threw a wrench into the whole concept of what this team is supposed to be…and it’s not getting better…it’s also no longer early to have any hope that it will get meaningfully better.

I don’t see any answers in house.

Monte needs to figure something out.

Dude has been mostly watching strikes float across the plate since his active 2022 offseason.

I’ve slowly lost faith that he has any more ideas left… or even recognizes how fatal the flaws on this team are since his efforts to address them the last two years couldn’t even be described as half hearted.

I’m down on this team.
